Did you know that your height might affect your health? The average height for a man in the U.S. is 5 feet nine inches. For a woman, it is 5 feet 4 inches. You have probably seen that people in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the tallest in the world usually have some health issues attributed to their height. Here are some interesting findings about this.
Some studies show that both men and women who are shorter than average may be less likely of getting either ovarian cancer or prostate cancer.
A five-year study on more than 6,000 adults left scientists to think that taller people may be less likely to get diabetes 2. It is not totally clear why this is true except that short stature may have to do with poor nutrition or metabolism issues in childhood or before birth.
Scientists aren't sure why but people who are 5 foot 3 or shorter are about 50% less likely to get heart disease than those who are 5 feet 8 or taller.
Pretty interesting, huh?

I wonder why scientists started this study in the first place. We are all unique.

Sometimes scientific undertakings are just weird and tiresome you wonder why they even thought of starting it

@BarBaraPrz Do you think I could get a grant to discover for how long a person can stay in bed watching corny movies?

My mother was 5'2" at her tallest but had a few heart attacks. I was 5"2" at my tallest and had an ovarian cyst (not exactly cancer). I remember being taught in grade school, probably grade 5, that people's hearts couldn't keep up if people were 7' tall, and yet we now see men reaching that height. Scientists have posited that women carry their babies in their left arms to keep them close to mother's heartbeat, completely forgetting that the majority of people are right-handed so would naturally keep their right arms free to do "stuff" while holding baby.
So... What do scientist really know?

I´m left handed and of course I carried my children in my right arm. It is not only common knowledge but something that you do with the automatic pilot. There are "studies" that don´t help anyone. Would you cut off someone´s lims if you are too long? People should sudy what is needed.
