Leslie Van Houten, one of Manson's girls and connected to the Helter Skelter murders, is one step closer to being paroled!! Now in her 70s, she has served 53 years in prison. Due to cost cutting, birthday freebies and discounts are being dropped by many companies. They are also shortening the period of redemption. Customer loyalty programs are also in jeopardy. A massive dust cloud from the African Sahara is headed for the United States. Yesterday Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter celebrated their 77th Anniversary. Unfortunately Jimmy, 98, is in home hospice care; and Rosalynn, 95, has dementia. Breakfast - Belvita Oat Biscuits Lunch - Meals on Wheels, Chicken burger, carrots, peas and fruit cocktail Dessert/Snack - Donut and decaf coffee Dinner - Turkey and Swiss sandwich and potato salad What did you eat yesterday? Photo Credit: Mine - One of the cons of living in the Florida Keys

I heard something about Jimmy Carter and his wife yesterday, but I wasn't paying attention to what they said. They had a long life together. That would be a definite con for living in Florida. I tried to keep it light yesterday, but I kept it within my budgeted calories. Breakfast: Egg omelet with shredded cheese, potato, and banana. Snack Strawberries, Lunch: Salmon and veggie Pasta. Last snack: Chocolate sugar free ice cream, potato, and banana.

I love to read about such a long marriage. Yesterday, I had popcorn, carrots, a cinnamon dusted orange, some chicken, and a sausage biscuit.

We have never had many birthday freebies in our country. I look forward to the 2 ladies stores that I shop at, they send me emails offering me 20% off during the month of my birthday. I had a mid day hair appointment yesterday, so skipped that meal, but had a bit of cereal with strawberries before I left for the salon. We had grilled chicken club wraps for supper with beans, I did some ribs for my hubby.

We already enjoyed he Sahara dust, it always makes a mess. I have to go out and wash the pathway. Rosalynn Carter was very young when she got married.

@LindaOHio We get it more than once a year. The ashes from Canada also traveled to us the past week.

I hope your hubby is feeling better today. I ate the other half of the turkey and Cheddar sandwich for breakfast yesterday, a sausage, egg and cheese croissant for lunch with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream for dessert and had a cup of Rainier cherries and a bowl of chicken soup for supper last night. I hope you enjoy your weekend.

@LindaOHio You're welcome. I always have to remind doctors/nurses that I have allergies to adhesives and different types of bandages.

I read about the Mansion women being released. What is she going to do for money. She has no Social Security.

She's going to have to work or go on support. We paid for her in jail...now we'll pay for her on welfare.

The Carters are really cool people. Your photo made me chuckle. I have visited the Keys, but didn't encounter any fire ants.

She'll either have to work or go on welfare. So we will support her for the rest of her life just as we supported her in prison.

Had grilled chicken for lunch and mango with sticky rice for dessert. Also had some noodles with egg for a late afternoon snack. No plans for dinner and I really thought I can make it until tomorrow but then hunger pangs hit. Had a one piece chicken with rice and cheeseburger from Wendy's for a very late dinner. Almost a midnight snack really.

I read that the dust will affect the bahamas and Florida but maybe not the rest of the eastern seaboard. Wow, that's old, too bad they won't have a wonderful anniversary, dementia patients rarely remember the important stuff only what they deem important and often they can't relay what they find so important.

I think that’s wonderful about Jimmy and Rosalyn. He’s the oldest former president in history, and they’re the longest-married first couple in history. It’s a real love story, and I hope and pray she is aware enough to have enjoyed the celebration. Yesterday was chicken-stuffed baked potato with cheese on top for lunch and cheesy hash browns for dinner. And the usual stuff (yogurt, grapes, etc.).

Jimmy Carter, who without a doubt was one of our worst Presidents, turned out to be one of the most influential humanitarians the world has ever seen. I hope God has a special place for him in heaven when he finally passes on.
