Jay Went to the Realtor's Office

Our realtor's office is in Hale, Michigan. As Jay would ordinarily say, "Hail Caesar!" He worked at a building center in Hale, for almost twenty years. This became his favorite joke.
He's writing a check, to secure the purchase of a lot in Tawas City. You noticed, I didn't say OUR lot. I'm afraid to call anything ours, until we're holding that property title in our hands.
I'm realizing that anything can happen, when we're dealing with other people's money. Today, it's our cash. After everything is legalized, then our final payment will be made.
The present owners are pretty excited, so they want this finished as much as we do! Thank God, this will all be finalized within a week.
Again, I don't have my heart set on this lot. Not until it legally belongs to us! Bill is handling the paperwork and he's doing a good job. Jay really likes him!

Sounds scary. I would not sell my house for anything these days, if I had one. Unless you are rich, if you are not, better be ready to take a downgrade or pay way more money than what you spent for your original house.
That being said. Buying a lot and building a house might be pretty smart way to go these days. There is a family that did that here down the road. Its the nicest house on our street. I bet they paid a lot less than if they would have bought it already there and made.Especially right now, That was 7 to 8 years ago.

@kobesbuddy It is really smart with the way housing market is right now. I am not saying Jay is not totally right but that is just because do not know enough, but right now with hell they saying our pitiful house is a half a million dollars. That's if we squeeze every bit out of it but then we sell it and in the land of California where most houses on the cheap is half a million. Its all crazy.
Outside the box thinking is about the only way you will make it in this crazy greedy world. There is no supply and demand anymore like we were taught. Its what you can get away with or if shopping how truly smart you are.

@crossbones27 And the money hungry are out to shaft anyone who will trust them. This means anything a person is shopping for! Audio equipment, real estate, vehicles, items we need to buy, there are sharks looking for someone to cheat

Nope, we are definitely not wealthy:( Jay has always wanted to build a house! It's a lot less expensive than outright buying another home. And thankyou, for being so supportive of Jay and me! We need your friendship

I got my heart set on the first lot and it bottomed out. I felt like someone had pulled the rug out from under my feet! Jay said, "Oh, don't be worried!" That's just how I'm wired:(

Jay put money down today, a security deposit. That means nobody else can bid on this property, unless we change our mind. Or of course, if the owner changes their mind and backs out of the agreement.

I got so excited, when the deal went through on our first lot. Then, we couldn't get the title, the owner lives in another state. It could take up to a year, for this to transpire. We had to back out of this deal.
