I don't know what I am going to do about my kitchen lighting

I have recessed lights in the kitchen and there are supposed to be 4 and I am down to one and a half. Whatever size went in their originally seems impossible to find. I have gone to Home Depot, and had them help me pick a bulb out by taking one of the old ones with me. I went to Lowes, I went to two local hardware stores. I was told in one place, that the type of bulb that was in there they no longer make due to safety or environmental concerns or something. I have tried several bulbs I thought might fit in there and I only got one to work. I guess I should maybe go to a lighting store. I am at my wits end. Does anybody have any ideas?

If worse comes to worse, I might hire an electrician and have them figure it out, but of course that is costly.

Well even if they don't have that exact bulb, I am sure they have something that will fit. I think a lot of contractors go to Lowes, but there may be a more specific lighting place.

That's OK. It isn't really an easy problem to solve,,but I guess I can check a couple more places.

I found a pack at a hardware store and only one of them fit in the opening. The rest did not...
. There must be something weird going on with the threads too. Plus I am barely tall enough on a chair to reach them. They are way up there. I could have friend try if doesn't manage to drop them or something.I am going to have to do something it is pretty dark in there. I could use a lamp temporarily, but I just want to use my lights.

It would cost a fortune to replace that lighting. Well maybe just the fixtures need to be replaced. I am going to try the batteries plus place, if they don't have something that will fit..I will look to get a professional in here at some point, and just hope the remaining light lasts until then.

@snowy22315 I never liked the halogen bulbs, they obliged us to switch to those years ago and then they were abandoned bought several for the bathroom until they were still available. I hope they will last more than we do
