Small but intense

That's how I would describe the thunderstorm that popped up and rolled over us last night.
The clouds had been building all day, and we could feel a storm coming.
The thunder and lightning arrived first. When the rain came, it came down in buckets.
These storms are getting to be a regular occurrence, putting truth to the joke that our forecast for July and August never changes - Hazy, hot, and humid with a chance of thunderstorms.
How's the weather where you are today? I hope it's pleasant.

@Laurakemunto This is true. The forecast begins in the morning, saying showers in the afternoon. By lunch, they back it up to evening. In the afternoon, the storms will come at night. That is what happened yesterday.

Two nights ago, we had a heavy downpour that lasted a couple of hours, and flash flood warnings went out. Last night's storm seemed more intense for the short time it lasted. Our power flickered but, thank goodness, didn't go out.
I hope there was no flood damage in your area.

Hazy, Hot and Humid with a chance of thunderstorms. Looks like 4PM is the best opportunity. We could probably use the rain though.

Summer storms kind of suck. They only cool if they cool the place off. Most the time they just make it more miserable.
Here is nice for now. A high of 89 which is unheard of this time of year. Usually 110. Thursday we supposed to hit triple digits and will be the first time all summer. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. Mother Nature is only nice for so long.

@DWDavis Yeah, I am 70 miles from LA to the east. I live in San Bernardino county though right next to San Bernardino . It is a freaking huge county though, so not saying much. I guess you can say the populated part a lot of the county is wilderness and desert.

All of these storms and the rain has been missing us. The south has been pounded with storms this year. Stay safe and sound and enjoy your day.

Very comfortable! It’s overcast, and the clouds are forecast to eventually break up and give us a day of great weather before H&H (heat and humidity) return.

We were at 61F at 6 am. It reached 70F at 11 am and just reached 80F at 4:30 pm... It has felt nice all day so far. The forecast here shows we might get storms this late afternoon/evening. (It is getting cloudy out now.)

I love thunderstorms at night while I'm sleeping but not when I'm driving. It's expected high of 100 degrees.
