I woke up after a good sleep and a wonderful night. After all, I did not watch a movie. I was sleepy so I just turned off the light.
Now I woke up, turned on the heater on my way from my first pee and brought a cup of coffee to my night table. A coffee later and my morning pills later I am ready to read your posts.
Luna has not come to say hello yet. So it must be very cold outside. She feels better inside her cozy home.
I have a children´s book I like very much at my side "The Earthsea Quartet" by Ursula Le Guin. It is one of those children books I reread once in a while, like the classic "Little Women", the several books by Laura Ingalls and "Anne of Green Gables".
Do you still read children books once in a while? I also liked a couple of Dr. Seuss books that I know by heart. I said them to myself when I was alone at the kitchen some years ago. My favorite "kitchen" book was Scrambled eggs super.
We don´t have as many children´s books in Spanish. Most of the are translations from the English or the German.
The best writer of children´s books that I have read is one of my closest friends. His book about the Chilean horse Huaso ( the horse that broke the The High Jump world record) in 1949, a record that hasn´t been surpassed. The book is told with Huaso as the narrator. I hope it is translated. I´ll ask him the next time he comes for a drink and a conversation.
My feet are now thawed. I think that I´ll start to think about what to do today.
See you. First is first, I´ll mylot a bit

I know by heart Le petit prince. It is more than a children´s book. I outgrew Cuore very early. I did not like the morals of it much. But I liked it a lot when I was a child. I first watched the film Pinocchio than reading the book although I was told since my early infancy that my nose would grow if I told a lie

@LadyDuck Cuore was too moralistic for my taste. I prefer livelier characters.

@marguicha I was told the same about my nose when I was a kid.
I did not like a lot Cuore, Pinocchio had a moral, but it was more funny.

This is amazing, his record never broken with the High Jump! My granddaughter is into the equestrian sport, she loves it! I enjoy children's books, but don't read them often.

Children´s books are not easy to write. I think that my friend Luis Tamayo is an awesome writer and by far the best children´s books writer in my country.

Good children´s books are not easy to write. Children get bored easily with bad books.

@marguicha I am sure, but you know me and my bad jokes. Why I never wrote one, plus I hate kids and they know. Like kids would read a book I wrote. Johnny grew up to be a punk rocker.

@crossbones27 I would have loved to live the life that Laura Ingalls lived. But I could not have written her books.

I like The Earthsea Quartet. I have it in ebook form on my phone. And yes, I have several books written for children on my phone.

The only children's book I have and which I treasure is an Annotated Alice in Wonderland. I love that story. Enjoy your day and stay warm.

I do love to read children's books sometimes. I've read all those you mentioned except the Earthsea one. I also read Heidi, Secret Garden, and Pollyanna, but my favorite are the Little House books.

I love The secret garden too, more than the other book written by the same author about Little Lord Fauntleroy.
