Another horse endurance ride coming up for us

Our power went off last night in the middle of me answering notifications and I think some might have disappeared so I’m sorry if it might seem as if I’ve ignored you. In other news, we’re off a bit later to take photos at an endurance ride. It’s raining at the moment but the ride isn’t till tomorrow so we’re hoping it will fine by then. The veterinary section takes place this afternoon but if it’s raining, we won’t be taking photos. There is a total of over 50 horses and riders and they’ll be travelling over distances from 10 to 80 kilometres. We try to get to the campsite early and, once we have the caravan set up, we drive along the tracks to find a good spot from which to take photographs. The photo is from a ride from last year.

I love how the horse seems to be smiling, it's a really good shot. I noticed that the bridal is different on this horse, there's no bit in his mouth.

A lot of them ride with just a light halter. The horses probably appreciate not having something in their mouths.

I am sorry you lost power. We had very strong thunderstorms but we were lucky with power. This horse in the photo looks a bit skinny to me.

The endurance horses that do the longer distances sometimes look more like greyhounds than horses. I agree this one does look a bit too lean.
