I've told the story before, but I love it, so guess what?
I was sitting at my computer having just finished "Because of Winn-Dixie" - the book not the movie - when the doorbell rang.
I get up and look out at 2 tweeny type boys.
"Is this your cat?" they asked. They held up a dirty emoji pillow with a tiny grey 'comma' on it.
"No," I said. Then I reached out my screen door and took that tiny body in my hands and said: "but I'll take it anyway."
She felt like a little Brillo pad, and I took her into my wife.
"What was that?" she asked, having heard the doorbell.
I held the kitten out to her.
I then found a scarf and a tiny basket sort of thing, you sort of see it in the photo. I told her.
"I have to run out and find some milk for her."
Now, cows milk isn't good for kittens and it was already after 9, so I ran off to Walmart and got a can of KMR (kitten milk replacement) and some bottles.
And she had her 6th birthday on Sunday and yesterday was her 6th gotcha day.
She's my angry little cat, but she loves her mama.

Kittens are so precious! I'm sorry that past memories have made her fearful:( She deserves a good life, with people who love her!(YOU)

@kobesbuddy she isn't really mean, she's just got a very short fuse. Cats have personalities and Opal is one of those cats who gets angry quickly and remembers, seemingly, forever.

@ElicBxn Her past memories are doing this. Cats are never born mean.

According to my older sister who loves reading like you, that it is more detailed in the book than in the movies
