Yesterday was Opal's 6th "Gotcha" day

I've told the story before, but I love it, so guess what? I was sitting at my computer having just finished "Because of Winn-Dixie" - the book not the movie - when the doorbell rang. I get up and look out at 2 tweeny type boys. "Is this your cat?" they asked. They held up a dirty emoji pillow with a tiny grey 'comma' on it. "No," I said. Then I reached out my screen door and took that tiny body in my hands and said: "but I'll take it anyway." She felt like a little Brillo pad, and I took her into my wife. "What was that?" she asked, having heard the doorbell. I held the kitten out to her. I then found a scarf and a tiny basket sort of thing, you sort of see it in the photo. I told her. "I have to run out and find some milk for her." Now, cows milk isn't good for kittens and it was already after 9, so I ran off to Walmart and got a can of KMR (kitten milk replacement) and some bottles. And she had her 6th birthday on Sunday and yesterday was her 6th gotcha day. She's my angry little cat, but she loves her mama.

I am so glad Opal had someone to take her in, and also happy to hear two young boys cared enough to look for an owner.

I wish I could find those young men and thank them, they'd be between 16 and 18 now.

Kittens are so precious! I'm sorry that past memories have made her fearful:( She deserves a good life, with people who love her!(YOU)

I don't know what makes her so fearful, she's just one of those grey cats who have a whole lot of angry going on.

@kobesbuddy she isn't really mean, she's just got a very short fuse. Cats have personalities and Opal is one of those cats who gets angry quickly and remembers, seemingly, forever.

@ElicBxn Her past memories are doing this. Cats are never born mean.

According to my older sister who loves reading like you, that it is more detailed in the book than in the movies

I watched a few minutes of the movie online and it looked to me like it was being played for broad laughs.

What a tiny thing, I am so glad you took her and allowed her to have a place where to live.

I couldn't just let her die, and if someone hadn't taken her in that's what would've happened.

@LadyDuck I know, she wasn't my first bottle baby, if you remember I had Oliver, the orphan, before.

@ElicBxn When they are so young they cannot make it if no one feed them and take care of them.
