The figs that we have our wild and do not taste as good as those we get in the market.
Browsing through YouTube I found an excellent recipe for making fig syrup. It is week long process but the result is astonishing. The syrup tasted as good as any that one get in stores.
I was a ta friend's place and she offered me ice cream. She also had a bottle of fig syrup and she suggested that I pour some of it on the ice cream. That combination was let me think yummy was an under statement.
I got home and I used the syrup I made and saw no difference. What makes it taste so good is the aroma of figs that is the same as you get in stores.

@allknowing Good that you found a great use for those wild ones. Maybe then these wild figs are good for "cooking"?

You should use wild figs as they serve the purpose although the recipe talks of the refined ones - why waste money

@allknowing Really? It is very interesting to know the good figs don't have that color Of course my dad's figs are not enough to make the syrup. We just eat it directly.

These are wild figs and the good ones do not have that colour the syrup I made was delicious matching what one woudl make with those other figs.
If your Dad gets enough he can make syrup.

@allknowing The only figs I see now are in fig newtons. One of my favorite cookies.

Running behind Fig juices and Dry Figs these days. The cost is extremely high here because of the demand.

Wild figs grow in our garden and it does not cost much to make the syrup

That's something wonderful that you learned. What else would you use the fig syrup for.
