I forgot I had a dog!

So my day didn’t start well when I woke up in an unusual amount of pain, but after the medication kicked in, it became bearable. So, I was glad to be able to meet up with my friend this afternoon for lunch, and a pedicure. By the time I headed home, I was ready to lie down. Maybe it was residual pain that distracted me, maybe the hot temperatures were on my mind, but when I opened the front door of my apartment, and heard something by my feet, I half stifled a scream. It was just my dog, Sadie. She scared the heck out of me, poor thing, and she probably felt the same way about me.
Have you ever forgotten about something where you live, and it ended up scaring you? When I was 14, my dad bought me a 6’6 cut out replica of Michael Jordan. One night my mom came to my room, and screamed bloody murder. In the dark, Michael Jordan looked like a very tall stranger up to no good.

There is one thing that I remember back when I still loved in Latvia. It was the meeting of a spirit from the world beyond, We had spirits in our house but would forget about them when we did not see them. Our toiled with in a separate little room that closed firmly with the twist of the knob. I had just gone to the bathroom and closed the door, I was standing on the bottom step of the staircase ready to go upstairs when I heard a creak. I looked toward the bathroom and the door was slowly opening. Well, I tell you I have had encounters but was not sure how to handle this. I took courage and rushed back and firmly slammed the door closed and still heard a noise behind the door and then I just ran up the stairs,

Pretty startles me all the time. I get distracted by something online and she walks into my bedroom and starts talking to me. I jump and yell every time. Sometimes I startle her with my reaction so she jumps and yells... and then tells me to cut it out. She shouldn't sneak up on me if she doesn't want me to jump and yell.

@AmbiePam I told her a few days ago I was going to put a camera above my door so we could capture those moments... She didn't think that was a good idea.

Bless your heart. Is it a migraine? I pray you're better and that you and Sadie don't scare each other again.

@1creekgirl I'm okay. I think this morning was a very weird fluke.

Are you fan of Michael Jordan? Good to know it is just your dog and nothing else

@averygirl72 I don't watch basketball anymore though. After Michael Jordan retired, my love of the game waned.

Glad that you were able to get out and have lunch with your friend and enjoy a pedicure too. That sounds so relaxing. Funny though about Sadie and of course I had to laugh at your mom and Michael Jordan.
Nothing scary comes to mind at the moment but I'm sure there have been plenty of times when I jumped from something unexpected.

I'm glad the medication helped your pain, and you could meet with your friend. I'm sure you didn't completely forget Sadie, poor thing, but her sudden appearance took you by surprise. I'm sure the cutout of Michael Jordan would scare anyone in the dark. Funny.

I hope you're feeling better. I always looked forward to going home and seeing my dog/s; so they never surprised me. The only thing that scares me is if I fall asleep in my recliner; and the TV is on...I've awakened to see a person on the big screen and thought that a person was standing there! Enjoy your day.

You are funny. Poor Sadie she must be wondering why you didn't hug her and was shocked. It did happen to me once. I was home all alone that night. I heard some noise in the kitchen.
I was so scared I locked myself in but I could hear some footsteps I muster the courage and opened my door and saw someone I was gonna scream but it turned out to be my mother-in-law. I did tell her "You scared me" and she laughed. It was a funny moment.

Oh, Ihave probably done the same, just do not remember the details right now. Oddest thing here these last two or three days is after the most recent storm I looked out and asked Bob "has there always been a tree there?" when in all actuality it was about 1/4 of a tree that had blown into the vacant field across the way. We both were amused at first and were conversing about not having a tree there. Poor Sadie. I hope your pain is much better.

Our son used to go to singing/dancing lessons and he sang Jake The Peg (Rolf Harris) at a concert. We made up the extra leg using a hockey stick with a sneaker attached. It used to be under his bed but that would scare me silly every time I saw the foot poking out.

I have had scary events like waking up in the morning thinking that the day was Sunday or Saturday when in reality it was Monday another day of the week.
