I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but Little Debbie's Swiss Cake Rolls are my favorite store-bought snack cake. There are other brands, but only Little Debbie's rank number one in my book. Imagine my delight and surprise when K found Little Debbie's Swiss Cake Roll Ice Cream at the Kroger near the campground when we stopped there the other day to pick up a few things. The ice cream is amazingly good and does taste much like a frozen Swiss Cake Roll. If we find this dairy confection back home, my waistline could be in bigger trouble than it already is. What is your favorite snack cake? Would you like to see an ice cream version of it?

I love Little Debbie Swiss Cake Rolls but won't buy them during the Summer. They get too warm in the store and get chocolate all over everything when you eat them. I start buying them again in the Fall when the worst of the Summer heat is gone. Ohhhh.... that really sounds good!

@DWDavis If I put my goodies in the fridge, Pretty will eat them all at one go and I won't get any.

@DWDavis I have GOT to try the Nutty Bar one - but I'm sure my kids would take all of them.

K bought the Nutty Bar flavor for herself. She said they also had the oatmeal cake and the honeybun.

That does look and sound delicious. I used to like the Little Debbie oatmeal cookies. I’m not sure, but I think it was part of a limited time frozen ice cream special a couple of years ago. A sportscaster I used to listen had his wife go on a search for all of the Little Debbie ice creams. Wait, did Little Debbie do those oatmeal cookies? If they didn’t, I’ll just give them credit for it because they were my favorite.

I haven't had Little Deb anything in years. I was looking at Hostess goodies the other day and the price was shocking.

I find the Little Debbie snacks are more economical than the Hostess snacks and generally taste better.

Sorry but that just makes me think of Bill Bryson's book 'A Walk in the Woods' about walking the Appalachian trail with a friend who is ridiculously unprepared.

My sister makes great swiss rolls but I've never had a frozen one. I'm sure they'd be delicious.

K makes a full-size Swiss Roll each year at Christmas and decorates it to look like a Yule Log.

Swiss Cake Roll Ice Cream???? Yum! Coincidentally I ordered Walmart's take on Swiss Rolls last week. I wanted to see if a much cheaper version other than Little Debbie was good. It's probably not; but we will see. Enjoy your day.

I haven't tried WalMart's version. Hostess has similar cakes called HoHo's. I don't think they're as food as Little Debbie's.

@DWDavis Yes, I like the Little Debbie's version of the Ho Ho's. We'll see how the Walmart version stacks up.

I like the sound of that! I'd had only heard of Little Debbie on the Simpsons and didn't realise it was a real product
