New Deck is Coming Along

We have done a lot of repairs and updates to our cottage in Pennsylvania. This summer we are adding a deck on the side that faces the lake. Our contractor David keeps me updated with photos.
We had a lot of trouble getting all the permits for this deck. He finally was able to start and he sent me this picture. We are now waiting for some of the Trex pieces he needs,

Thank you, it has been rather a nightmare. Setbacks were the issue and getting a plot plan. Now we had to make the deck a food shorter which means he has to cut all the Trex which is more work and he has to get the end covers. But at least he was able to start.

@DWDavis Trex composite decking is made from 95% recycled plastic film and reclaimed sawdust and it is beautiful. Myt daughter did it on her deck and porch and the side porch at the cottage is Trex, no maintenance is what appeals to me.

@BelleStarr Nothing ever seems to go easy when you start a home improvement. Is Trex that board made from recycled plastic?

@BelleStarr What a guy! Some contractors here (well the ones we got estimates from) didn't want to deal with that . . . just told us YOU go get them

Yes thank God for David, he spent hours at the two permit offices, we needed one thing from the county which meant he had to go to Scranton and one for the Township. PA is a pain. He is such a gem.

Thanks, we have a great contractor so I know it will be wonderful. I will have my cup of coffee there in the morning and watch the sunset in the evening.

That looks like a nice size deck and it will be so nice to sit out there and see the lake. I wish I had a Trex deck.
