Yes I did. I put in my thirty minutes in the kiddo pool this morning. No I did not want to go.
My family knows that going to the doctor is not part of who I am. But....I am not getting younger. I wonder how that works? So yesterday hubby called to see about finding me a Doc. He heard: we might have a Doc for your wife in November. Maybe.
That actually made me want to jump up and yell: Hooray! I decided to grow up. I called a Naturopath and I now have an appointment with that lady Doc in mid August. She will not accept Medicare so I get to fork over $249.00 for her giving me an hour of her time. The visit after that will be about one hundred dollars less. At least I will get some medical attention. I'm not delighted but I will do it.
The photo shows a pumpkin that is growing in my back yard garden. The lady that sold me bare root strawberries gave me a pie pumpkin plant. It looks like we will have a harvest this Fall.

Before I was old enough for medicare and before I moved here I had a doctor who was part of what they call "the direct model of care" and she handled almost everything herself, like taking labs and sending them to an independent lab or stocking common prescriptions. I paid a subscription price of $75 per month and could see her as often as I wanted, even, I guess, every day. I could call or email for many answers without going in.

@GardenGerty There are few doctors practicing on their own these days. Everybody appears to be hooked up with a large system or clinic.

Nobody LIKES going to a doctor but, at some point, we all have to go... My dad refused to go to doctors... until he had a heart attack and couldn't refuse anymore. I'm glad you aren't waiting until that point before you get checked out.
I'm glad you have something edible growing in your garden.

@sallypup I'm thinking the same thing. Dad never came home after the neighbor took him to the doctor and the doctor sent him to the hospital. I'd rather that not happen to you.

@DaddyEvil I think my hubby is worried about me being on the same track as your Dad.

Glad you found a doc. I hope you like him/her. The naturopath sounds interesting. My grandma used to go to one.
Pumpkins are always fun for the fall. I used to grow strawberries too.

I'm glad you have a doctor's appointment. I'm sorry you need to fork over so much money because they don't accept Medicare.
The pumpkin is looking good.

You would think that there would be an alternate doctor who would accept Medicare. Great looking pumpkin.

I don't like doctors. I am trying to find a good naturapath around here.
