26 July - What I'm Thankful for Today

Today was a good day. We got rain. Not a lot, not as much or for as long as they predicted, but we got rain.
I'm thankful for the many blessings God gives me every day; my life, health, a home, transportation, friends, and the list goes on.
I'm thankful for the exercise time this morning. I put five miles on the bike while they exercised to the tape. It was harder than usual this morning. I'm guessing the heat and humidity played a role in it.
I'm thankful the home health nurse arrived on time this morning, and that she showed up. I told her the last time I agreed to have the nurse come in from the insurance, she was a no-show. I'm thankful I'm in good health, though I have one area I need to focus on. She confirmed I'm pre-diabetic. However, she said I could get rid of it be getting rid of the weight. So, yes. I'm focusing on getting this weight down. Not that I haven't been, but I will be stricter with myself to get this gone. I told them at prayer tonight, I won't be coming to anymore potlucks. I don't need the temptation of all those sweets.
I'm thankful I got my laundry done early this morning. I had it in the washer by 2:35 AM, and finished by 4:30.
I'm thankful for rock painting today. It was a full house today. No vacant chairs. I finished a rock. I'll bring it home next week. I brought one home today and gave it to my friend down the hall.
I'm thankful for prayer tonight. It's good to come together to pray and receive encouragement for our daily lives.
I'm thankful for the nap I got this afternoon. With getting up so early, I needed it.
Okay, that's my day. I wasn't here as much as I normally am. I'll get to the notifications tomorrow. I'm not going anywhere except to Canasta. I'm not leaving the building in this heat. We have a first alert weather day because of the heat tomorrow. I know that in many places it's hotter than it will be here, but we haven't seen this heat yet this summer. We'll be in the 90s and could see the heat index in the triple digits. It's a day for the A/C.

Yeah, as difficult it is to miss the gatherings, if being at a potluck makes your health worse, then you’re doing the right thing by quitting them.
I am thankful I learned about a new program today, where if you buy $20 worth of produce from select grocery stores and Farmer’s Markets, they’ll match it, and give you $20 more produce for free.

@just4him .......It's nice to have. My daughter has breathing issues because of her smoking. I worry about that a lot.

Today turned out to be a good day, too. I'm thankful we made it home safely. I'm thankful for no rain today. I am also thankful for the surprise visit from Enphase. It's our solar installers, and they had to turn on/repair our batteries because they'd been broken all this time and I only noticed before we left for our staycation.

Sorry to hear that you're pre-diabetic. We both need to take off some pounds I guess. I am thankful that I got to meet @FourWalls yesterday. I am truly blessed to have friends like her. Enjoy your day.

I’m pre-diabetic as well, but manage it with diet and exercise. So far I’ve been able to keep my numbers in ann acceptable range.

@just4him It runs in my family, so I’ve always known that diabetes could be an issue. But so far I’ve been able to keep it in check.

You have so many things to be thankful for, I am thankful that I was able to make it today to my recliner under my own power. I am thankful I am able to be here on Mylot. I am thankful for my family. I am also thankful for the rain today. We sure needed it.

Oh, how I pray you can get that under control before it gets into full-blown diabetes.

Sorry you're pre-diabetic. Better to know when it is at that stage rather than later though. I didn't know till I was past the pre stage. Hope getting the weight off will help with
