How good at you at self-control?

To those who are aware of Sophie, have you wondered why I haven't posted anything about her?
Sometimes I'm really great in controlling myself from doing something no matter how excited I am. But sometimes, it's just too difficult.
I held myself back from posting anything about Sophie till the time I'd have her in my arms. In fact, I think I told Anna the next photo I'd post of Sophie would be when she's with me.
I failed. I told my artist not to send Sophie yet because I was waiting for a particular date for her to arrive home. And last night, I finally told her I'm ready for Sophie to come home. She sent me this photo and asked me if she could hold Sophie for the last time.

Yes. the photo isn't as good because of poor lighting. Anyway, I will post more photos of her again. The artist will have a photo shoot this morning and she will send Sophie in the afternoon.

Yes. I wasn't able to sleep last night because of excitement. She took that photo around midnight and sent it to me past midnight. I stayed awake for a few more hours and woke up before 6am.

She will be shipped on Monday instead of today coz the courier was closed today. The artist already prepared her box.

@LadyDuck I hope so too because the third typhoon has just entered. Three weeks of typhoon already. Fortunately flights aren't cancelled in my city and the place where my artist lives. I hope there won't be any delays.
I checked her nails in that photo. She did a good job. It's tipped and it looks like newborn nails. Sophie's fingers are so similar to mine.

OH she is perfectly fine. She is now inside the box ready to be shipped on Monday coz courier was closed yesterday and today.

It depends. When other person is taking control of my life, it irritates me no end. I don't like being asked to adopt, or write properties to people with all limbs intact, or even donate for educating children of gamblers or drunkards. I would happily donate to a farmer who is uneducated, and has had a couple of bad crops. Or to an acid attack victim, or to somebody who is raped. Not to idlers, not to somebody living off wife, not to somebody who has thrown out his parents, not to a person who pretends to be good with elders but cannot be bothered to read their comments and understand what is not acceptable to them.
My feeling is, I have slogged a lot to get to where I am. Working round the clock some days. Taken on stress for more than 23 years. So it should be my right isn't it to decide to whom I write the properties or give or even if I chose to marry at this age? Why should I let others snuff out all those possibilities? Steal my freedom? Nah..confiscate my freedom.
Unlike them, I have taken care of my parent. I haven't thrown him out. How then can they assume such power over me? That ...ok...that is the part that annoys me...very much.

@toniganzon Thank you for understanding that. I don't feel comfortable at the thought of taking on responsibility of a child or another person. I am too old, and have my health issues. And I have done my share of "being responsible", by not dumping my parent. So yeah, I have a right ..absolute right...to live my life the way I want to, without being labeled as selfish by idlers, gamblers, drunkards, greedy folks, selfish folks, and will mind your business folks because you are not married and have no kids. Being not married and having no kids does not mean I am a fool whose brain is malfunctioning so that even those who know nothing about me, decide I know what is best for her. Nope. I know what is best for me. I am in the situation. Some issues I can share, others I cannot. I need my privacy respected on those issues that I cannot share.

@vandana7 The society we live in can be so cruel sometimes. I have always lived the way I wanted without the care of others opinions. My brothers would sometimes hear stories about me from other people and wold mention it to me, but that didn't stop me from doing what made me happy. Those stories were untrue anyway. Society can be very judgmental especially to women.

I am very bad at self control and cannot even imagine a baby I made. You a better person than me. In a way self control should be a very limited in the regard to your own baby but so neat you trying. More than many people do. Why I knew I should never have kids. That is something you do not play with and if people can't understand that then they should have none.

Very true. Having a baby had always been a big dream of mine. So when I got pregnant with my son it was such a joy.
I never had a baby after him. And now Sophie, a reborn art baby is coming into my life and into my arms soon.

@toniganzon That is pretty neat in the way I hope it teaches people its not a game, you are in it or you are not. You cannot be in between. You all in or you are not in at all and it will kill a young spirit that could change the world one day.

Sophie is really now on her way and I am tracking her. She want sent Monday. The courier says it might take up to 7 days for Sophie to get to me. I hope it would be earlier though. Now I am getting impatient.

Yes she was specifically made to look real. That's the role of the reborn artist. And she did pretty well. But some artists from Europe and the US could even do much better. But I am happy with the local artist I chose.

Yes. She looks a bit pale in the photo. Bad camera and bad lighting did that. Can't wait for her photo shoot this morning with a professional camera.

This one is a custom made. She was sculpted by an artist from Australia. But I bought her in a an art and craft store in Canada. She was then painted or reborn by a local artist in this country.
Sophie was already. finished 3 weeks ago and was ready to be delivered to me but I told the artist not to even though I was really excited to have her in my arms.

I'm new here, so I'm not aware of Sophie. I don't know who or what is Sophie. When I first saw that photo, I really think that's a real baby! OMG, it looks so real! Sophie is so beautiful
