About 2 years ago, I was at a wedding when my doctor was very concerned about a blood test that I had done 2 days previously. I was getting overweight and I was concerned about it. So I asked the doctor for a blood test and when the results came back, he messaged me right away. I was at the wedding of my neighbor across the hall's daughter and my husband was worried that the wedding would start and we would be on time. So we were 90 minutes early. I was shocked at the doctor's message that I had "fatty liver." Because we were so early, I looked up on the net what to do, and they only thing was to eat a completely different diet: broccoli, beats, aspargus, not much meet, no cola, no fizzy drinks, no wine or stuff like that, only whole wheat products, only fresh fruit,
I looked a the menu of the wedding, and after the ceremony I went home.
Now after 2 years on this diet, I had another blood test and everything is 100% perfect. So I have to keep up the diet. . .
What special diet are you on and why?

It is a continual process, You have to watch your food intake all the time, but I don't want to be such a bother when I go out and am with friends. I am thinking of ordering Milk Thistle Seeds to grind up and drink as a tea. The belly is still a bit big, but I am walking the dog once a day, one of my sons does the other walk, so I am getting more exercise.
I will so another blood test in about 3 months.

Congratulations on getting everything in order so well! That is quite a difficult change to make, but so worth it. I just try to cram vegetables into my body, rarely eat meat, and drink an insane amount of water. It helps that I prefer fish over any other kind of meat protein.

@lifecoachjerusalem I still drink a Coke a day. It's the vice I'll never give up, and I got an unusual recommendation to keep drinking it. I have had migraines since I was eight, and my neurologist said it wouldn't be worth it to stop. Of course, if I had a bad medical problem that required me to lay off sugar, I'm sure he would change his mind.
How long did it take for you to get over craving them? I know you said you miss them, but did you have a withdrawal period?

That's really good that you've turned your health around for the better. A shame you need to keep up the diet but I'm sure it's worth it.

The diet I am on currently for hypertension is not to eat sugary foods and eat more vegetables and cut back on salt.

I'm glad to hear that you're doing well on your diet! It sounds like you've made some major changes that have had a positive impact on your health.
I'm not on any special diet right now. I have a very hearty appetite, I eat a lot, and I eat pretty much everything, which makes it difficult for me to stick to a diet.
