I would call it kadai(wok)chicken biryani

I received two free packet of biryani pack from " big basket" along with my online shopped items. It contains a packet of biryani rice a small packet of biryani paste and a little of whole spices like bay leaf, a stick of cinnamon, two green cardamom and a few black pepper. I thought of making it as a Sunday special lunch. I marinated the chicken, prepared a biryani powdered with spices, and made a paste of two plums that we usually add to biryanis, got the saffron dipped in milk that I would add to the fried biryani rice. Now I had used the pressure cooker to cook Kittu's chicken rice, the saucepan to boil milk. So I had a big wok only and a small one too. So I used the big one to cook the chicken and the small one to fry the rice along with dry fruits and apricots, added the plum paste and saffron but the cooked the biryani in the big wok. Therefore necessity is the mother of invention. I cooked my biryani in a wok instead of a handi or saucepan. It came out well. We did enjoy it but it was quite filling.

It pays to be able to adapt when you don't have quite what you want.

Yes, I didn't expect it would get cooked exactly the way I wanted in a wok.
