If you use Facebook and are in community groups have you noticed a proliferation of people wanting to do "air duct cleaning"?. These people are everywhere. They are going to be in the area today, and they just need two more customers to fill their day. I KNOW these are scam, but why? What are they hoping to gain? Why are there so many of them advertising in small town Kansas? Do you have them where you are as well?

I remember my grandmother getting a random call one day about getting her air ducts cleaned, and, unfortunately, she said yes. The guy showed up, went to do the job, then pretended to get electrocuted, and tried to sue her, Thankfully, he was easily proven a serial fraud. It’s hard to believe those Facebook scams work, but I guess they do.

I hate it when these scammers prey on the elderly. It's just mean.

Have you seen what the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has to say about that? If not, here is a link to the question, Should you have the air ducts in your home cleaned?.

I used to get phone calls about air duct cleaning but not since I changed numbers, and I haven't gotten any on fb. Maybe they think Kansas is particularly dusty, after all those tornadoes and all...

I don't go into community facebook, the only reason I go to facebook is to check on real friends or share silly memes

I help to admin a local facebook group. When they want in the group, we check their page first. They always have a picture of a ''perfect'' family, every hair in place, in a dramatic setting. All of their posts usually have the same exact number of likes. Never any comments. They always like their own posts. And everyone who likes their posts, have the same type of facebook set up. Other than that, their pages are locked down like Fort Knox. They are scammers to the nth degree. In a town not far from me, they caught one of these people actually dumping out several huge bags of duct ''dirt'' that they had brought with them.

There's no way to check and see if they're really doing anything. They just take your money, pretend to do stuff and leave again.
