My craft beads have arrived

I have an order for two beanies for year-old twin girls. They are to be Christmas beanies and I’ve been waiting on some beads to arrive. I wasn’t able to buy what I wanted in our shops and I’m not sure these will work either.
The children’s grandmother wanted red and green sparkly beads and these don’t really sparkle. The grandmother lives in the village and between us, we’re happy that we’ll be able to come up with something acceptable. I also ordered some little bells which are very bright too.
One of the problems will be whether the beads will thread onto the wool, which is quite think. At least the beads have arrived before we go away for three weeks. I'll forget about them now until we get home then I'll meet with the lady and we'll decide what to use.

The beads are pretty but yeah, they don't really sparkle... I do like the little bells, though.
Good luck making the beanies.

@JudyEv Hmm... I wonder why red beads would be harder to get than other colors? That seems weird... Did you already buy up all the red, sparkly beads in Australia so you're hoping you can get us to ship the ones in our countries to you now?

@DaddyEvil Maybe red is just more popular. I need to be able to get the thick wool through the middle too which is an added complication.

You can make some neat items with beads. My mom found some good beading ideas and made some neat Christmas stuff with them.
Here is one of them we made...

@JudyEv This was made from beads and wire. Not too hard to do...
Here is one idea from You Tube. I'm sure there are many more on there.

I bet they will be happy with whatever you give them. Where are you going for 3 weeks?

@JudyEv The bells are shiny so if you mix them it will look good

Beautiful Christmas colors.
You’re starting early.
I also have a christmas that needs to be completed. It’s a quilt christmas theme. It’s overdue.

You have a few months before next Christmas so perhaps you'll get it finished before December.

The red ones seem to sparkle a bit more than the green ones but what do you expect from opaque plastic? Maybe sequins would work better.

I wish I still had my index cards of craft suppliers. I had some that specialized in beads. I hope you find something that works. I like the idea of the jingle bells. Enjoy your day.

Pretty beads. Would be better if they are sparkly. The bells are nice.
