I had it done just an hour ago. Usually before whatever dental procedure I had, like root extraction, tooth filling and root canal was all painful. but they charged cheap. i think those that charge me much less before had given me less anaesthesia. like getting root extraction, i could feel the needle of the injection on my guns. was so painful.
but now the dentist charged more, but it was done right. from the start. Before injection I got my gums numb first before the dentist injected the needle with anaesthesia. that's why I hardly felt it, but still there a short slight sting. but very bearable.

I hate having work done on my teeth. Some dentists are better than others at the work needed.
I'm glad this time wasn't painful for you.

yes, i hated it too. it's true some dentists are better. thankfully, i have found a good one. i won't change dentist anymore. though the dental service is double than what others charged me before but it's still worth it.
but then, dental service here is usually very cheap compared to US and UK. my root canal today cost me $100 only. that's already expensive here. i don't know how much in your country would it cost

@hotsummer I've never had a root canal, but my daughter has. I'm not going to swear to this but I think my insurance paid about $1100 for each one. (My part of the cost was about $200 per root canal.)
Yeah, a friend there just had a tooth pulled for about $15. When I had one pulled, I paid $100 for that.

@DaddyEvil oh my , even with insurance, you still had to pay big amount for each. so you use your insurance to pay for your daughters root canal procedure

@hotsummer What you saw in the videos was patients on laughing gas, which is a different anesthesia than you had. Dentists here use the same anesthesia your dentists use to numb a person’s mouth, but they put a mask in people who are extra nervous, and turn on the laughing gas. It doesn’t take long after that for a person to get really goofy.

@AmbiePam does it add more numbness using that laughing gas. or is it just used to get their mind off the procedure. it's the first time knowing about it.

i had so many dental problems growing up. it was all traumatic experience for me. as young as like 7 years when I had this painful anaesthesia injection for tooth extraction. when i was on my 12 or 13, lots of dental works that involves drilling of tooth. were all painful.
the dentist this morning said I'm too nervous while at it. thankfully, it isn't the same experience as before.
I don't understand why people on US as I have seen on YouTube, that had denta procedure were like not on their normal self. like the anaesthesia was so strong that it affected their memory
