Seeing the big snowstorm that socked the midwest the last couple of days, has prompted me to ask what the worst storm you can remember is. For me there were a couple of thunderstorms where the sky just turned these ugly colors. I was in class at the time and was seeing the storm develop out the window. I was shaking. I've seen massive rainstorms and a big snowstorm that ended with 20 inches of snow on the ground. It's time to read what you guys have seen.

When my children were little we had a terrible storm hit the area. It was the beginning of October and it started raining very hard. Then it got cold. Snowflakes the size of walnuts were dropping from the sky. The ground covered quickly and the trees were weighed down from the heavy snow. You could hear the branches breaking from the weight of the snow. The power was off for 24 hours, we were the lucky ones. Other areas lost power for up to 3 weeks. There was a lot of flooding as the rivers and lakes swelled from the melting snow and the rains that followed.

We had a thunderstorm come through a few years ago thad had tornadoes in it. It went through this little town south of us called Jarrell Texas, and a lot of people were killed. It was really scarry. I had my boys in the bathroom, in the tub. There was warnings in the area. we were lucky, and didn't get much damage..

I don't really remember a specific storm, although a tornado did hit my hometown last spring. What I can remember through actually expeirencing it was the Flood of '93. That was just amazing as to how much it would rain. I never knew areas could get so much rain, and to see rivers rising in your own back yard made it pretty darn scary.

Over here, in Montreal, QC, Canada, it was the ice storm of january 1998. It looked like it was the end of the world. Different areas of the province were out of electricity for a week or more. Everything was covered in ice. I used to work in a supermarket, and ppl came to buy candles, bread, drinks, and anything that wasn't rotten. Our store alone registered for 56 000$ in loss. People were cold in their heat deprivated homes, some slept in school gyms, on the floor, with their kids. This was definately the worst storm i remember here.

A couple years ago we had a major icestorm in KC. The leaves hadn't fallen, so all the weight from the ice brought them all down. We were without power for 2 weeks. It was just awful.
