I'll be glad when things slow down.

Today was another long and hot day here in the state of Florida. That's nothing new. It's par for the course, especially in august. Both August and September are two of the hottest months. And, we've been dealing with a nationwide heat wave this year.
But, today sucked. Not only was it hot, but on top of it, I had a doctor's appointment. They find one or two things to focus on, and honestly make me want to hurt someone. I get free insurance, and those doctors really don't listen. If it wasn't 96° with a heat index of 106° she likely wouldn't have believed me that my pulse was high because of wheeling myself to the office and up aramp at a sprinter's speed. She even asked me twice if I had a blood sugar meter.... which I do, because of course I do. But I refuse to go on a diabetic diet. So-called sugar free alternatives aren't much better than sugar. And, cutting out my cokes really doesn't appear to have an affect on my numbers.
And. then they wanted me to pee in a cup? seriously? I just hope that doesn't come back to bite me. There's more to it than that, but.... honestly. I don't really care.

@RubyHawk They are also supposed to get to know you and your unique situation. They aren't supposed to make assumptions based on numbers on a screen. I have a lot of anxiety around needles, and I might've made some poor food choices before the blood draw. It would have contributed to my numbers in the moment.

@kaylachan How does your doctor know about your health if he doesn’t check?

Doctors can be a pain; but maybe yours just wants to be thorough. I have a doctor like that. She is test crazy. I would have had the doctor retake my pulse rate at the end of the appointment. I do that with my blood pressure; and it's always back to normal by the end of the appointment. Enjoy your day.

I know why it was a little high. The doctor did take my pulse a second time, complaining about how she was going to get one because I had a wrist band on one wrist, and a watch on my left. I wish I had something solid to bang my head against, because I could manually take my pulse.

Yeah. Some people say skim milk is better, but in reality, whole milk is actually healthier. Same with sugar.

Well it did rain, and we got kicked out of the pool, but George was getting a bit bored of it. Not like we won't be back.

More power to you if that's what you want to do. I wish you all the best with that.

@kaylachan I have not had a real doctor visit in over twenty years. Not joking. Since I made my mind up to do it, I wasn't going to wait until November then maybe get a Doc.
