I use a little piece of paper to cover my laptop webcam. It is to protect my privacy. As I am not sure whether the webcam is on without my permission. And then I found there is a webcam cover which you can use 3D printer to print it out. I shall do it and it will looks professional

In the past I also didn't care about it but now I changed my mind. It is very annoying that your privacy might be seen.

Have never thought of covering the webcam. Was used to using desktop for many years that did not have a cam so may be that's the reason I did not think of it.

@youless When I just started using Internet I was so excited and tried to connect with every connection available But now I have become more practical and only use those gadgets that I require to connect the way I want to.

Yes, on my old laptop, I used a piece of cardboard taped over the lens of the webcam. On this laptop, I bought a small plastic slide cover for the webcam.

I may also cover the webcam if I use a laptop with such device. Actually I use a laptop without a webcam, so I don't need worry about such risk. When I need to make a video call with others, I usually use my cellphone.

My new laptop has a sliding cover to block the webcam. I keep it covered unless I need it for an online meeting.

There's no camera on the desktop I use. My husband uses a laptop for work and sticks a lump of blu-tac over the lens.

I think that it is wise to do that. Those webcams are no doubt being used when we aren’t aware of it.

On my laptop, when the webcam is in use, the light will turn on. But I agree covering it is a good security measure.

Yes, some software may do it secretly without the webcam light is on.
