Temperatures are reaching above 100 degrees! Phoenix Arizona has been a unheard of 120 degrees about for 28 days straight. And there were blackouts in many areas with no fan. Battery operated fans might be a good idea. And portable solar panels. Also keeping ice and rubbing on your face and neck can help stay prepared for extreme heat. This is the hottest summer in history! Is it HOT where you live?! How do you Beat the Heat?

It’s been over 100 degrees most of August here in Oklahoma. I try to spend as much time as I can inside with air conditioning. I drink bottles of cold water, and put a towel in the freezer for a little while before I go to bed at night; anything to keep cool.

@yukimori I stepped outside this morning, and the humidity slapped me in the face. I hadn't felt humidity that early in quite some time.
Although, I remember being in Arizona one year in July. It WAS pretty bad, even without the humidity. You guys are tough.

It is hot in the Lake Charles area with a heat warning throughout the day. The way that I beat the heat is to have a fan inside my bedroom as my relatives. Also cross my fingers that we do not get any blackouts.

@db20747 It was scary since the daytime heat without a fan working was bas news.

@Deepizzaguy yes, working in this extreme heat, a person doesn't know when they will pass out.

120 F is hot even from the Arizonian standards.
Here it is hot some days but the humidity tests more.
Today we got some rains.
It has made the conditions cooler but more humid.
Ice packs and hand fans.
Yet it can be very tedious and challenging!

We have stayed in Phoenix from 2006-2009 and it was really hot. North Indian states get extreme temperatures. Luckily, my city is known for its wonderful weather throughout the year. We don't get extremes.
Take care. Stay indoors and stay hydrated.

@db20747 Yes, it is indeed. It's weather is actually best.. but then it comes with its own cons. We have viruses flourishing throughout the year and so more sicknesses. Also, a lot more asthma and pollen allergy is reported here.

@arunima25 yes, there's always a con to any kind of weather. I'd still take that weather and keep my medicine handy LOL

Phoenix always gets the hottest summers but it hasn't been cool here either. AZ, NM and southwest TX have had the longest run of over 100f days and it's broken all previous records.
This week we're finally in the 90s, what a relief but now I wonder if AZ is also in the 90s, they really need it too.

In my part of the UK we have had rain pretty much every day for the last 6 weeks and it's supposed to be our summer. The forecast for the next few weeks isn't great either.
I have been soaked at least once (sometimes twice) every day while walking the dog.

Not that hot here. But I have been staying indoors mostly. Only outside to get the mail or go to the grocery store.
