With the school year about to start we are super curious about what my son's class schedule will look like. This year there's a possibility he could get assigned health class. This is the year if they get health they may be bringing home a baby. They have these dolls that cry and they have to take care of them for a weekend. My brother and I both had to take home the babies. Back when we did it they had keys that were on a bracelet that was on our wrist and when the baby cried we shoved the key in their backs and held it until they cooed. I figured out that I could use the elastic that held the key to the bracelet to hold the key in place by wrapping it around the key and then I wouldn't have to physically hold it in and I could go back to sleep so that's what I did. I got an abuse thanks to a friend I let hold it who didn't hold it right and made it cry and a neglect because I was a heavy sleeper back in the day and didn't hear it cry right away but I think I still got a B on the project. I was confused about the girl who actually dropped the doll got an A. I saw her physically drop it and she still somehow got an A meanwhile because my friend accidentally tipped the doll wrong and I didn't hear the thing right away at night I got a B. Life is unfair sometimes. Everyone was fascinated with that doll. It really did look real. We got little carriers for them and got to pick an outfit for them and had to act like they were ours and they had to go everywhere with us. We could get an extra key for a babysitter if we could prove we had something going on that demanded all of our attention. I remember when my brother had his doll we were on our way to Indiana to visit my sister who was stationed there and everyone was embarrassed my 13-year-old brother had a doll. I was ten at the time and they asked me to carry it into the restaurant and I didn't want to so they paid me to do it. I had to pretend like it was MY doll. I only got a dollar for it I should have charged more. I think the project is a good one for middle schoolers since it's before most of them become sexually active and gives them a little clearer picture of what could happen later although I knew two pregnant girls in the 8th grade. I do kind of hope my son gets to take the baby home I think it would be a good lesson for him. He is very squeamish about so many things and I feel like health would be difficult for him but also good for him.
