Life has meaning again!

As I may have mentioned, I bought a KLH Model 21 radio on eBay the other day. I generally buy these things for about $80, restore them cosmetically, and then sell them on Craigslist for about $140. I bought this on on a whim. I surfed eBay (also on a whim), found one where the bid was something like $20, and submitted a bid of $25. When I was outbid, I submitted a bid of $32. I had no intention of winning. But when the auction ended, I was notified that I had won. My total cost, including shipping, was about $50. Buwaahaahaa! If it works. Today a fellow audio geek came over and we opened up the package while talking about stereos and guitars. I got some wire clippers and "made" an antenna out of speaker wire. When I tried to pick the radio up, it fell apart. The wood is not attached to the chassis. There is missing veneer. There is loose veneer. But when I hooked it up, IT WORKED! It is in better alignment than the KLH Model 21 atop my fridge. Making this thing look beautiful will be right up my alley. I will buy some fresh wood glue for the restoration process today. I will get this thing started before I head to Montana. Did anything happen to give your life meaning today? Photo is of the unit I opened today. It was well packaged.
