My first sunflower of 2023 is the one I thought might not make it.
It was broken in several places, but I wove it through my lattice work and nurtured it, giving it extra water and Miracle Gro Quick Start.
I hope to hit the road tomorrow and may not see it in its prime next week.
But I am glad it survived.
Isn't it beautiful?

Oh, that's cool. The one you thought wouldn't make it made it. The nursing did the trick.

@TheHorse I had just told a friend that the saying that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks can be wrong. I’ve definitely learned how to do some things in recent years.

See? I told you you weren't really a plant murderer.

@DaddyEvil It's still looking good today. My friend Nataly (about whom I wrote The Moth Song) "doesn't have time" to water my plants while I'm gone. My neighbors Bob, Austin and Sukesh will do their best.

Your sunflower is lovely. You have a nice little garden there. Have a good Sunday and drive safely today.
