All pets are special and unique in their own way, even scared and demanding Nico can be sweet and affectionate. He is a good boy at heart..I am convinced. My last cat Milo though was really something special..Sweet, affectionate, playful, smart. I truly can't say enough good things about him. Gone much too soon.. I will miss him all the rest of my life. Which one was your favorite pet?

My favorite pet was our dog, which was a lab-mix named Nayla. She was a sweetheart, and although our we got her for our son, she really was my dog. She was such a loyal dog to all of us though.

My favorite pet was an outdoor cat and she disappeared for good. Now I have her kitten and he is 4 years old. He is not a kitten anymore.

I only had (still have) one pet, the cat Gevi. I love him, but the ginger cat of my neighbor is a special cat and he is my favorite. I do my best not to show to Gevi how much I love Bubi.

Probably a good idea as pets do get jealous to of each other.

@snowy22315 - Exactly, Bubi stays outside and only comes in for a few minutes, so I cuddle him when Gevi is not watching.

Our Norwegian Elkhound Ozzie (Oslo's Silver Blizzard), was truly a special dog. He did things that endeared us to him; and he was one of a kind. We miss all of our dogs so, so much. Have a good week.

@Deken00 Plus you can leave them at home for a weekend without having to get a sitter.

@snowy22315 I started out with dogs too and love them both, but yeah cats are a little easier and more portable

I completely understand and I'm so sorry that you have to go through missing a pet. My favorite was Sissy, she was half husky and rot and the sweetest dog ever and so smart and goofy lol. I have another dog Sammy now and love her but it's just not the same

Yes, it is hard to get used to a new pet when you are still grieving the loss of a previous one.

@snowy22315 it is, but Sissy has been gone for over 2 years now and I'm still not over her and neither is my husband. I don't think we will ever be in a sense.

@hillhjill You probably never will be fully. Like losing a person, you just learn to live with it.

My male cat, my big boy, was my baby and definitley a mamma's boy. It's been 4 years and I still miss him terribly.

Yes, I have another cat, but his personality is totally different from the one I lost. I think I will always miss that kitty.

@snowy22315 Absolutely, I love my other cat, his sister, but he was the most lovable boy ever and definitely loved his mommy!!

It was Beauty. She got run over on the train tracks. A beauty of a German Shepherd pup..the pick of the litter my Dad gave me. I was around 8 yrs old. Never got over that.

I can’t just pick one. I’ve had dogs, cats, goldfish, hamsters, turtles and bunnies. Five of my pets really stand out. They were all cats. One of the five we still have. Two were boys. The others girls. Each one had such unique and special personalities. I loved each of my fur babies very much, but I’m more into cats.

I loved the walking sharks a friend shipped to me from Australia. I loved snuggling with them.

I rremember your posts about Milo. Herc would have to have been my favourite pet although our little cat, Smoky, would be a very close second.

Thanks, yes. I wouldn't want to have a bunny, as their lifespans are fairly short and I would be too attached.

@snowy22315 its pretty sad . I had them 5 years ago . 4 of them . they didn't make it through the first 5 months . It was summer , they passed away cuz of heat stroke . Still pains me but I did my best to take good care of them .
