Getting Excited About Weird Things

Sometimes, it really IS the little things. In this picture (if it shows up), you are seeing a “throw up bag”, the kind you get in the hospital. I was ridiculously happy to see these sold online, and for an extremely low price. Having had chronic migraines since the age of eight, I have always needed something like this, but didn’t know they existed until about five years ago. Now if my vision fades, it won’t matter that I can’t get to the bathroom. I’ll have one of these nearby.
What little thing do you get excited about? Maybe people look at you weird, but only you know how great it is?

I can actually relate.
Before my brain tumor was removed I had a BB with me at all times.
But I have not gotten really excited about anything lately, other than the fact that I only have 5 working days before having a week and a half off for vacay. That has me totally excited.

@AmbiePam It is just a week really, and then there is the Labour Day weekend, so the extra day on Monday and the day after that I took a paid personal day as I have to have a cancer recheck done. But that is booked really early in the morning and by 9am I should be just enjoying the day. The timing of that appointment could not have been better.

I said I was weird. Too many times the trash bags I double upped had a tear, and I ended up having to clean my carpet. I'm relieved to have a solution. However, I'm also happy to say my migraines have been cut by a third in the last two months.
A free haircut is awesome!

@AmbiePam Yeah, I thought so with how much they cost these days. She did a great job too!

Paper or plastic ? I didn't know they could be bought - we've always used the grocery plastic bags when we were sick, just in case.
Maybe this isn't so exciting, but I get excited to see fresh figs at the store. I love them, but they are only available for a short season - like now - it's an exciting time for me .

Yes, the grocery bags were my go to until one had a rip in it. So, I double bagged it, and two had rips; I had to clean my carpet.
Oh, I love figs! For some reason, the first time I tried a fig was only about three or four years ago. It was a treat.

Gosh that is terrible poor Ambie.
I used one of those bags on the plane to Ireland when I was a kid.
Yes I have had some excitement in life..years ago.

I don't get online chicken and fish in my city delivered home. If they start something like that I would be very excited.

@AmbiePam I would always like things delivered at our door steps as I rarely go out of the house these days.

Sorry to hear about your migraines. I get them too, but I am "fortunate" to only have them once or twice a year. I already had an episode back in March, so I'll have one more this year, ugh! I hope not.
I am with you there, that sometimes it's the little things that truly matter and give us joy. For me, I am ecstatic at having freshly laundered sheets to sleep in. Seems like as I grow older, I tend to appreciate these "smaller things": a new pot or pan, a new coffee mug, marked down fresh fruits and veggies.

You could’ve just gone to the airport and robbed them….”give me all your air sickness bags!”
Yes, when you have medical issues, little things will mean a lot. I’m glad you could find them…and I’m very sorry that you have chronic migraines.

I can understand this and I'm really pleased for you. Small things can really make a difference. I remember once a group of us (all oldies) caught a ferry for a short ride across the river and one of our number said it was only 50c if you were a senior. It was only $1 anyway but you would have thought we'd won Lotto, we were all so excited!

I'm so sorry that things are so bad that you're excited by a barf bag. There are a lot of little things that I'm excited about. I'm so glad I have a computer because I've made so many wonderful online friends, including you! Have a good week.
