Since women's football started to become a bit of a thing I've often heard it said that it's completely different to the men's game. England have a chance of winning things they said. The players don't roll around on the floor trying to con the referee they said.
So armed with this information I settled down to watch the women's World Cup final between England and Spain at 11am BST this morning.
Unfortunately England's heart on sleeve, never say die, blood and thunder approach was found wanting when faced with a technically superior opposition and the Spanish team, after taking the lead, proceeded to fall over, as if being shot by a sniper, whenever anyone disturbed the air within a few feet of them.
So basically, it was exactly like watching the men's game!
Never mind! It made for a marginally more interesting Sunday morning than being in church!!

Glad you got to enjoy the game. I am so not into sports but I used to like watching the Formula One races on Latvian TV

I'm not a sports fan. But I have heard of the Women's Cup. I tried to watch a soccer (football) once, but I couldn't handle the noise of the fans in the stands.
