Will you be doing a theme for your Christmas tree this year? Have you ever done a theme?
Or do you just throw whatever you have on it?
Pervious years we just did whatever we had or wanted, no real theme. But this year we'll be doing a purple & silver theme with gold and green thrown in. I am excited cause I think its going to be very pretty. WE tried to find purple lights but couldn't find any that we wanted to buy. So instead we are using blue and hope it blends in enough to look nice. Jason thinks its going to do. We plan on getting our tree either this weekend or Monday or Tuesday. I am very excited to see how its going to turn out.

I have never had a themee for the tree. Maybe next year, I kind of like that idea. I'm not really sure what we are doing this year. I have some four legged tree decoraters that don't think any ornaments should be near the bottom.lol

at least they stay at the botton of the tree. Have you ever had a kitten that decided scurring up the trunk of the tree was the greated joy ever? Now thats funny to watch (minus the glass orniments of course)

I have a 6 year old son and a 5 year old son. I know what you mean about having fun - my 5 year old has been noticing the neighbors' lights and decorations and has asked me all week "when are we going to decorate?" We are getting our tree tomorrow night and will probably decorate on Sunday.

And being fun is the whole point!! :)
I've just always wanted to do some kind of theme and this year we just went with it. Who knows next year might just be thrown together again hehe

My sister does the whole theme thing when it comes to decorating anything.
Me, it just seems like too much trouble because I already have so much stuff that I have accumulated through the years. I like going through the old ornaments and remembering what each one meant. Each year, I pick up one new ornament that reflects that year.
Example...one year the movie Gordy the Pig came out and my son thought it was called Kordy the Pig. He was so excited that a movie had his name in it, we couldn't burst his bubble. So the ornament that year had a little pic on it. And on the back I write the reason for why we picked it and the year.
So each year, putting ornaments on the tree turns into a trip down memory lane for some and stories for others that were not there or too young to remember. :)

I've never done a theme. I just throw whatever I have on it. It always turns out okay in the end, though I've always wanted one of those picture-perfect trees.

I decided not to put up a tree this year because my husband's
has his work stuff all over the house and we just don't have the space, but I'm beginning to have second thoughts. I've moved things around a bit and I'm starting to think I may have space after all. Can you post some pictures of your tree when you get it up? It sounds like it will be beautiful.

My family does not have a theme to put up on our christmas tree each year. We basically put the same decorations up each year, with some new decorations. Most of it is the same though. That is nice that you will be doing a theme and bet it will look very nice. Hope you have a wonderful christmas.

When my husband and I were first married I decorated with the same colors we had for our wedding. Blue and silver. Then the next year I add the ornaments that my mom gave me from my childhood to the tree so now I have the whole blue and silver plus my childhood ornaments. I have ornaments from 1975 to now. My great grandmother would buy my sister and I an ornament each year and have our names and her name engraved on it along with the year. So they are very sentimental.

Out tree is pretty much the same with a few added ornaments every year. Alot of the ornaments on my tree were made by my girls. I have an ornament or two from every grade of elementary school. (Pre-K through 5th grade) They are both in middle school now (6th grade and 8th grade) I treasure the ornaments they made. Takes me back to when they were little. They like them too, they get to reminisce and see how their artistic talent changed through the years.
