A mug for our hosts

When we visited the Christmas shop in Toodyay, Western Australia, I saw this coffee mug and couldn’t resist buying it for the couple where we’re house-sitting. They have a pet sulphur-crested cockatoo called Jimmy and lots of bird and cockatoo memorabilia in the house. And now they have a cockatoo on a coffee mug as well. We actually saw four wild sulphur-crested cockatoos yesterday. There are dozens of pink and grey galahs but you don’t often see the cockatoos. And before you ask, I googled and a galah is a type of cockatoo but different enough to have its own species. I'll try again later to add the photo.

But the macaw can't raise their feather the same as a cockatoo, I guess that's what makes them so special.

Our cockatoos are pretty but don't have the bright colouring of birds like the macaw.

Sadly, no photo as of yet. I know myLot has been having lots of issues with photos lately. It always amazes me when you start to study species of animals and realize how many subspecies of that particular animal there are. It just goes to show the amazing diversity of life on planet Earth.

Mugs are good tokens. I've also have some mugs given to me as tokens from some people. I use some of them snd the others I just put on display.

@WorDazza The Christmas shop is more about Christmas decor from table runners/cloths/serviettes to streamers and ornaments and all the other once-a-year paraphanalia - which you probably guessed but you were just stirring me up!! Admit it now. Isn't that the case??

Try and keep up. There is no connection, just that the coffee mug was in the Christmas shop. They had quite a lot of non-Christmas items too. At least it enticed me to buy something. I don't really need any Christmas stuff although I did go back later and bought a pack of Salvation Army Christmas cards.
