I hate it

I have a love hate relationship with shopping.
We just finished shopping at three stores.
Number one reason to hate it is the increased/outrageous prices.
Number two reason is that it takes a lot of time.
Number three reason is the biggest of all. Once I have shopped and we have gone home, I have to put everything away. It is so hot, I do not like multiple trips to the car. I do not like putting it all away and playing grocery jenga to make it fit.
We got home, everything is inside. All cold and frozen items are refrigerated, or in the freezer. I do not have time or energy for anything else tonight. Not even the Lot.

I won’t do two trips to the car because of those blasted stairs I climb. I’d rather climb the stairs though, than hear the pounding of feet on the ceiling if I lived on the ground floor. I carry way too many bags on my only trip up the stairs, and then get the rest the next morning when I come down to walk my dog. Is it dumb because of my back? Why yes, yes, it is.
Those outrageous prices are never going back down, are they…

I can definitely relate to this. Once a month I make a huge Aldi run--I just keep a running list so it's ready and I head out. It takes a lot of time, then load it up, the trek home, and then the unloading and the putting it all away. On that particular night, I usually don't cook either, I have something ready to eat ahead of time, or we just have something simple.
I like that term, grocery jenga!

Yes, once a month would be a good plan for something like that.

For me, it saves money and to plan ahead with a running list keeps me from running out of items that I need, if at all possible.

I do not have to queue often, or only behind one other shopper. I am a good shopper, and get great deals.

All our less expensive stores are a half hour to an hour away. Our mom and pop stores are about fifteen, but cost incredibly more.

Lucky for me there's a walmart store about 10 minutes from me if there's no highway construction going on.

I get germs everywhere since I work at school. Bob tends to not go in, so he is pretty safe if he goes.

@GardenGerty You are so much exposed to germs. Right now it's safer to go inside stores, in winter I ask to my husband to wait in the car.

When Pretty and I go shopping and get home, I put away everything that is freezer or fridge and she puts away the cabinet stuff. (When we could afford to buy too much, I was better at getting everything to fit neatly in the fridge and freezer without needing to empty what was already there out onto the counters first.)
I hope you're both feeling okay and can take a long rest this weekend.

I try not to buy too much, but we always need milk and bread particularly.

That's the reason I never shop a lot of things and get most of my things online.

I know how you feel about shopping since after my relatives come home from a shopping trip, my nephew and myself have to take in the groceries from the auto and then assist my older sister to place the groceries in the kitchen to put the groceries away which takes up a lot of time.

I can sympathize. There was a time after my husband's back surgery when our housekeeper picked up our Walmart order, brought it to the house and put everything away. My husband didn't have to do a thing. That was nice. Have a good weekend.

@GardenGerty His back, knees and hips are really bad. He's supposed to go get X-ays done (for months now); but he hasn't gone. I really think he might need knees and hips replaced. If that happens, I'm not quite sure how I will manage; but he still needs to do something. Thanks for asking.

You deserve a good rest. You can be here after you are well rested. Shopping can be tiring and I too don't enjoy it anymore as much as I did during my young age. And window shopping doesn't appeal to me anymore.
