My Late Summer Overview report

Hey Mylotter friends, sorry I've been quiet for the past two weeks. I've been sick with the dreaded crud once again and now on the mend. I know I've been behind on posting and commenting lately. I'll do some catch up on June-July-August posts all this weekend and throughout the Labor Day Weekend, and start commenting on posts tomorrow night after work. Between work and playing with Bailey, I did call off on work on 8/19 only. So I'm going to do a late summer catch-up post this evening. Bailey: It's been 7 weeks since I've adopted her. Our bonds are strong. She's been rubbing herself against my legs lately and purring every once in a while. Meanwhile, four of her toys (2 bell and foil balls) have gone missing lately. And I haven't been able to find them in all of the usual places. I've been trying to trim her nails for the past three weeks or so. She doesn't want me to touch them. So I'll keep trying to do so to gain her trust, until her rescheduled general wellness exam two weeks from this Wednesday and have them take care of it for more. So far, no complaints from my neighbors on the litter box issue. Thank goodness for Litter Genie. I'm still planning to give Bailey a playmate toward the end of the year or early 2024 instead of next summer, like my brother wants me to do. Two days after I adopted Bailey, there's this sweet female cat named Old Mother Hubbard. She was taken to me ever since I met her. She's been waiting for me by the door to take her home. She's just like Bailey with the coloring--white with black spots--and around four years old. If she's still there in a few months, I plan to take her home with me. She hasn't been featured on the website for an available cat yet. And according to her file, her owner abandoned her for some reason. If I do adopt her, l'll probably rename her to something else and fitting for her, and maybe have my brother help me introduce her slowly to Bailey, and hope it goes well. (He told me earlier this month, he's allergic to pet dander.) Unless other cats come along and steals my heart, she'll be shortlisted among the others when the time comes. Work: Between being sick and my mid-year performance review in late July, everything's good except for speed and to hit 5 bins. I know I can't do one bin per hour. I've struggled and gotten to 3 bins a few times. Instead of doing my monthly or weekly updates, I'll just tell you that I hit my low at 1.35 in late July. The highest I've gotten is 2.50 bins twice this month. I've barely got two or close to two when I've been sick, and pushed myself to go a bit faster. I've changed my monthly goal to reach 3 bins by Veteran's Day and hope to get to 4 bins (my ultimate goal) by Halloween. My permanent work schedule is Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I've tried to see if I can have the weekends free again. But my manager asked me, which day I preferred. Since I have Bailey, I chose Saturdays to keep it consistent for her to know my routine. This means, no more day events for me, unless it's on my days off (Sundays, Wednesdays, Fridays). I can only do evening ones. I did schedule my one-week vacation to have off on the 2nd week of October. Other than rest, I'll be volunteering at the shelter and at the zoo. And yes, I'll be working on Labor Day and have a 3 day schedule, with the exception of a doctor's appointment next Tuesday. Zoo: Last week I had my second roaming mentor session with another volunteer. My original one was away for two months on vacation outside of the USA. So I know I wouldn't reach my 15 roaming hours goal since May's roaming workshop. Since I've passed, I'm now an official certified roamer at the zoo, and be a biofact cart attendant for some events in the future. I plan to roam next Friday for one hour and a half-hour before Bourbon N Bears next Saturday night. I plan to do 15 hours between now and 11/21/23 for Wild Lights VIP, my last event for the year. As for Boo next month, I'll do the first Saturday during my vacation and see about doing one at night. It's going to be tight between work, and leaving for the night shift which starts at 4:30 PM. I don't know about doing a Sunday shift yet. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it when I schedule it next week. As for the other posts, I'll post a Super Belated June recipe report card tomorrow night. I started it before I gotten sick and don't have much more to do on it. I've canceled the July-August recipe lists, since it's way too late for it. It'll be moved over to a September post and combined into one. I've only done most of the July ones and two August ones before I got sick. I just have to compile all the recipes and put them together with all the links. It'll be posted during Labor Day Weekend. That's it for now. Bailey says hi. I'll check back tomorrow after work. See you then.

Why would your neighbors complain about your litter box? No way they could smell it unless your walls are paper thin, right? I’ve never had cats though, so I wouldn’t really know. As much as I want you to get Old Mother Hubbard, I hate to think of her stuck there. But, if she’s still ready when you are ready for another cat, then it is probably meant to be. I’m so glad Bailey and you are bonding!
