Security Cams Are Up

I was taking a nap earlier when I heard the tell-tale sound of the drill. I only suspected my husband as the culprit of that noise, and sure enough, I saw him by our garage. He's up on a ladder, installing one of our security cameras. He looked happy to have finally found the time and have unpacked his tools so he can get this thing off his to-do list.
After he got the cameras up and running, he calibrated the one monitor he assigned to be the command center of the security system. I asked him if he needed my help, but he did not say anything. I repeated my question thinking he did not hear me, but looks like he does not need any help.
Sometimes when he is hyper-focused on something, he is in a zone. I just let him be and go on my way. Earlier in our relationship, I would take offense at it, thinking that he's ignoring me. But I was no longer that young, insecure girl. He's got things to do, I also have stuff to do.

The longer you're with someone, the more you get used to their quirks and habits.

@kaylachan Amen! But I also encounter older people who seemed stuck with high school drama.

I know you're glad the security system will be up and running.
I installed a security system at our house at K's request. Now, she never lets me turn it on when we go camping because she's afraid the lady who feeds our cat will set it off.

I admit, it's an added peace of mind. Hopefully it will deter the vandalizing of our vehicles, or stealing whatever they think is valuable in it (newsflash: we have nothing worthy of stealing in our cars). It will not stop any of these activities, but knock on wood if it did happen, the least we can do is report it and send the recording to insurance.

Looks like it's a common thing for them. However, us wives don't get a break. What I mean is, even if they see that we're very busy, they will still bother us with "Hey do you know where the kitchen shears are?" or "Do you know if we still have some bandaids?"

@LadyDuck And don't even get me going on how even though we told them where something is, for some reason they cannot find it. And once we get up from what we're doing, we find the thing that they're looking for exactly where we told them it is!
