What do you know, as we wind down the month and this look at songs that were on the Clear Channel Memorandum, I’ve hit songs that you can actually understand being included! Yeah, the title of this song makes sense for its inclusion. Rock out with today’s tune. #3: Burnin’ for You - Blue Öyster Cult Yeah, I get the fire references as being “problematic.” “Fire” by Springsteen, “Fire” by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, another upcoming song….understandable. Man, this is a great rocker. I love this so much more than their other big hit (“[Don’t Fear] The Reaper,” which was not on the list). This song kicks booty. Buck Dharma (real name: Donald Roeser) sang lead on both of Blue Öyster Cult‘s “big hits, as well as co-lead duties with their other well-known tune “Godzilla.” He’s also the lead guitarist in BÖC. I’m not a major fan of the band, but I sure do love this song!
