My middle child over the weekend turned 11 years old! I know another teen for me to deal with. It is just a reminder that my 12-year-old will be 13 years old in January. I know they are getting old which makes me feel even older.
11 years old and a 6th grader. Supper is proud of him because he is doing 7th grade math this year the same as his sister who is a 7th grader herself, but they don't have the same teachers since they are not in the same grades. He is taking guitar for his first year of middle school which I think is good for him.

Time sure flies. Soon you'll have three teens. All at different ages and stages of life.

lol by the time I have 3 teens two will be practically adults. The littles is 8 so he is close to his preteen years once he turns 9 he is technically a preteen.

All three of my kids have learning disabilities so anything they do that is school wise I'm always proud of. I have a learning disability as well and am an author, so I get all the little victories.

@hillhjill Oh no! I'm no New York Times award winner, my name isn't known anywhere really other than a few friends that read what I write but everyone starts from somewhere.

Ah yes I don’t know, but my husband can pick up any instrument and play it with zero lessons. They haven’t started yet playing but I feel he’ll pick it up right away. Thank you for the offer I’ll keep it mind if my husband isn’t around or he can’t ask his teacher.

@TheHorse Lol Nope he doesn't have songs in his head he can't write music, but he can play music way differently. Also, he never has one thought in his head he is bipolar so there are usually about a million but with his meds, it's more like a couple hundred thoughts.
Just because you pick something up and play with it and till you figure out the cords doesn't me they hear music in their head. Lots of people can just easily look at something. From what most instrument players say once you've learned piano a lot of times randomly picking up another instrument becomes easier. I can't play instruments, but I can sing, I can't write music or read music but once I've heard it a good few times, I can sing it. I'm more of a creative bug with it comes to writing stories.

@ShyBear88 There are certain people who just have melodies in their head and can play anything they hear. Your hubby may be one of them.
