It's a full moon night. It's called the rakhi purnima. The moon is shining gloriously in the sky.
This day is celebrated as the day dedicated to the loving relationship between brothers and sisters. Quite many families have special puja ( religious ceremony) and sisters tie decorated threads on the wrist of their brothers.
Bengali schools had a holiday today.
Our children are going to have a rakhi tying ceremony in a few minutes. They are quite excited about it. Soon all of them will gather in the hall of the main house.

Oh that's so nice. I couldn't celebrate it because I'm an only. But thanks!

You are allowed to tie a "rakhi" on the wrist of your cousins and you can also call someone your brother. Here, teachers also are honoured with rakhi. Soldiers on the borders are tied rakhi by the girls of nearby villages.
