What brings a tear of joy to your eye?

For me, it will be lots of things. I guess it does not help that I am a crybaby, or a sympathetic crier. I just see someone in tears and I end up tearing up as well, even without knowing the reason for the other person's tears. I guess I just can't stand another person being that sad or hurt. But what bring tears of joy to me? When my family or loved one has succeeded after working hard for it. When a loved one has recovered from an illness. When my younger siblings graduated from college (I paid for their schooling so they will not end up with any student loans). When my younger sister passed NCLEX, my youngest sister passed the LET, when my brother passed the Engineering board, and when my youngest brother finished his aircraft mechanic course. When my dad quit drinking and smoking. When my dad started to serve the Lord as a lay minister. When my mom recovered from COVID. When my mom finally retired from teaching. When I finally was able to buy each one of them a house and lot of their own. And lastly...when my husband proposed. I did not cry on our wedding day though. He did.

what bring a tear of joy to my eye is when my favorite sports team wins a baseball championship for the first time in a lifetime like when the Chicago Cubs won the World Series for the first in 2017 since winning their previous World Series in 1908.

@Raine38 It was a huge milestone indeed since the sports media were constantly complaining about the Cubs being cursed since 1945.

I'd love to have someone like you close by as a friend or support system. We all need someone who can ground us and help steer us back from totally losing it.

Thank you for the kind words! It's the little things that mean a lot to us. Of course, it helps that we really work hard for anything that we've been blessed with. It helps my younger siblings appreciate these more.

All those are very good reasons to have tears of joy. Knowing that my niece had a beautiful healthy baby brought tears to my eyes.

Congratulations, auntie and also to your sister for a new addition in the family. Health is wealth, and I agree that that can bring so much joy knowing that a family member is healthy and well.

I'm like you. I also cry when I see someone crying. But tears of joy come when I see little children doing something you wouldn't expect them to do at their age like singing or praying.
