An animal control officer in Maricopa County Animal Care and Control saw a male dog named Minion who is 15 years of age outside on the streets on Friday August 25.
The animal control officer took Minion to the animal hospital when the veterinarian found a microchip in the coat of Minion.
After the identification of Minion, the veterinarian found out that Minion had run away from home in 2011 after a maintenance worker accidentally left the door open in the home of Minion's owners via voice mail to inform them of the good news of Minion's appearance.
After the owner of Minion returned the phone call to report that Minion had been missing for 12 years, the animal control officer drove her auto to the home of Minion's owner the same day to reunite the dog with his owners.
Where the did Minion travel during the 12 years is not known. The reunion of Minion and his owners whose name was not released was a beautiful sight.

Wow, It seems like Minion could have gone home if he wanted to though. It seems like someone was taking care of him, or he is one savvy dog.

Probably Minion was being taken care of another owner.

That is true that some people do not realize that animals do not have feelings.

Did the dog tell his owner the story about where he has been all these years,

The dog did not tell his owner where he was for 12 years away.

I'm glad that they were reunited; but it's so sad to think of losing him for that many years and how did the poor dog survive?
