Do you drink them? Energy drinks? I can't handle them. Gives me a belly ache.
Parents and pediatricians in the U.S. are calling for a ban on energy drinks. These high-caffeine drinks have as much caffeine as six Coca-Cola.
In a 350 ml can of Prime Energy has 200mg of caffeine. This exceeds the permissible levels in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. Other rival companies like Monster Energy - Ghost Energy drinks have between 150-200mg of caffeine.
In the UK and the U.S., no proof of age is required. There are likely not going to be any legal age mandates although some countries and retailers have banned some products while still others are requiring proof of age.
What are your thoughts on this issue? Do we want our teenagers drinking these? Is it better than drugs?

@celticeagle yes its true. Business as usual, they don't care about someone's health, they care only for their own interests. Sad reality.

I think many of tohse drinks (including Coca Cola and the like) are responsible in a great part for obesity and for diabetes. And no, I don´t drink them.

I have tried those, and I did not like them. They taste off to me, and I don't like how I crash too soon after consuming. Teenagers shouldn't be taking this, in my opinion. Their bodies are still developing, and these energy drinks contain some ingredients that can affect these.

Pretty used to taste-test some of the different ones but hasn't bought one in over two years. I tried one once and thought I was having a heart attack. I haven't bought one since then.

I used to drink them, back when my blood pressure was so out of control. I'd wake up and feel like I didn't sleep all night. I had no energy, I drank 2-3 a day just to perform normal activities through the day. I developed a nervous twitch, and uncontrollable verbal outbursts with the twitches. just a kind of yell and involuntary jerk. I did that for about 1.5-2 years. It started to scare me, I decided I needed to take control and have not had one in over a year. the twitches and yells stopped. having said all that, I don't think they should be banned, we are adults, free to make good and bad decisions. As far as selling to teens, I think that's where the parents jobs come in, if you don't want your kids doing it, let them know, it's not acceptable behavior. I get a little tired of the government babysitting us.

That is pretty extreme and would be really scary. I do agree we don't need the government babysitting us but, I also thing the producers of these should be more responsible too.

I drink Gatorade. Do not think it is an energy drink. It's a sports drink.

I seldom have energy drinks, unless i am exhausted.Energy drinks is bad for sleep,as well as health.Only when i run out of energy, need be refreshed,i will have energy drinks.I think authority should forbid venders sell energy drinks to teenagers.

If I was exhausted and needed to get something accomplished I might have one. I agree with them regulating them in the case of teenagers.

I don't drink them. I know a lot of people do, but they are not that good for anyone. I don't think some people ever read labels at all.

I would consume them on a daily basis, wouldn't recommend as they're addictive and really a false sense of energy, just like coffee I suppose
