Remembering This Beautiful Stream

Not far from where we live in Riga, Latvia there was this stream. It was hidden by bushes which you had to push through and then down a very narrow path until you reached it. This stream ran through a wooded area and became a reminder of the seasons for us. In the autumn it was usually almost hidden by falling leaves and at times we scooped out some of the leaves just to see the water shimmer. In the winter it did not freeze completely but it got snowed under and sometimes for the fun of it we walked in the stream through the snow laughing. In the spring it was the first sign for us that winter was over as you can see in the photo and we loved just taking quiet walks by the stream throughout the summer. Well since I already wrote this just imagine a stream with a wooded area on both sides,

You've drawn a lovely word picture of the stream. We don't have four such distinct seasons here. They tend to blend into each other more.

It sounds much like the creek where I live. Other than it doesn’t snow enough here to cover the creek.
