I Need a Raise...

...but when I told my supervisor that, she just kind of rolled her eyes and said no, it's not time for your annual review yet.
Before I could point out that she was the one who asked me if she could get me anything, she turned to my lovely coworker, pointed at her, and said, "But you, come with me."
And that was how I successfully got my coworker a surprise raise.

Thanks! I actually did wind up with a decent merit raise, which is kind of a Thing That Rarely Happens with my employer. Took months to push through, but they managed it at the beginning of the year.
My annual review's only a couple months away now, too.
