Personally, I like to hunt, but only for game such as dove, quail or anything that flies. What I mean is something that has a chance that I won’t be able to hit.
Something like Deer hunting, I was never able to do for the simple reason that I think the poor animal sometimes doesn’t even know what hit it. They are sometimes so far that the bullet hits it before he even hears the shot. I, personally don’t consider that a sport. I have a high-powered rifle with a high-power telescope, but I use it mostly to protect our livestock from predators, those I will shoot.

First of all deer hunting is a wonderful sport. It is as much fun as hunting those flying little birds, just more meat to eat. Ha Ha.
Second, The deer probably don't know what hit them. Do you think birds do? Check this out... I am a bird flying along and all of a sudden I'm hit with birdshot, damn that hurt, I've just been hit by a bullet. I'm going down.... Duh! No animals know they have been shot.
Third, how in the hell did you mount the telescope on that big highpowered rifle? Are you going to shoot the moon with that telescope??? LOL

Don’t get me wrong, I used to like deer hunting some time ago. I shot them and felt great about my accomplishments every time, until one day I shot one from a distance of about 900 yards. I squeezed the trigger and saw the deer drop. I’m pretty sure the sound of the shot reached it after the bullet did. I felt proud of myself.
I went over to the animal and found that it was still alive, after all this time that it took me to get there. As I looked at that magnificent buck, it just kept looking at me right into my eyes. I just stood there wondering what was going through its mind. I felt terrible that time, I had never seen any of the other deer die in front of my eyes this way. I don’t know what happened that day, but ever since then I have NOT gone deer hunting.
Thanks for your response

I don't like to kill anything. Big or small. Just for a sport I think it is terrible to kill a life, even if it is an animal. If it is for surviving, food and shelter, then that is another story.

Do you eat any meat? If so, in case you weren't aware of this, they have to be killed first, then you can eat it. Why do you think God put these animals on the earth? Go back and read the Bible then talk to me about killing animals...

Unfortunately, deer are a protected species her in the UK. Since 'modern' people have been here longer and our island is a LOT smaller than north america!
I don't personally hunt, but i have friends who shoot rabbits for sport (one of the only wild species that proliferate here!). I have absolutely no objection to hunting, provided that stocks of the species are managed to prevent serious decline and endangerment.
I enjoy fishing at the coast and eating any decent edible fish I catch. Things like this and hunting animals are part of our own nature and are what has kept humans going. i dread to think how many people would just starve if they could not buy food from the supermarket.
