Today I was on Maryann Petri's podcast regarding false accusations. Maryann had to fight the family court system for custody of her children after her ex's new girlfriend made up false accusations against her. She has become a passionate advocate for people who have been hurt by the court system. In my case, a member of my family was falsely accused of rape, and I later dated a guy who was hurt by a false domestic violence accusation. People who were falsely accused don't just pick up their lives and move on like nothing happened. There are financial and emotional effects even if you're not convicted.
