My Feet Are Bloody

I really don’t know what to do about my shoes. Most of the time, I’m okay. I can wear flip flops, and they don’t cause any pain. I wear flip flops so much I have a flip flop tan line. Unfortunately, you can’t always wear those kind of shoes, and last week at church, I had to wear regular shoes with my outfit. As I walked inside, I noticed my feet had started to hurt (I hadn’t worn these in awhile), and by the time I got home, my heels were bloody, and the top of my feet were very red and sore.
A few months ago, I had enough money to buy two pairs of shoes, but I wear 11 1/2. When I finally found some suitable shoes, the place in question only had 11s or 12s, no half sizes. I bought size 12, and went on. After fifteen minutes, my heels were bleeding, and the sides of my feet were pinched. Maybe my feet have grown.
Payless used to be my go to store, but they closed down a few years ago. Their online store is downright sad. The other stores that carry my size are so expensive! I bought some of those things that you stick on the back of your heel, and that should prevent them from bleeding again; I hope. Sometimes those things don’t stay in place.
Do you have a problem finding shoes?

I usually go to Wal-Mart to buy my shoes. I might check around some better shoes next time.

@Scrapper88 I will definitely look at them, and I think snowy mentioned them too. A big problem with the shoes is cost. Some places have my size; I just can’t afford them. But it certainly won’t hurt to look into them.

Bless your heart, Amber! I know that's awfully painful. Even though you don't want to wear flip flops to church, I suspect your brothers and sisters in Christ would much rather you wear them than to become injured.

I remember Payless . . . there's no convenient shoe place like that anymore. I have to be picky about my shoes - I have this left knee issue now and some shoes will kill my knee . . . even certain flip flops! My heels bled the most with pumps - even the flat pumps. In my skating boots, I wore this gel thing that clings to the skin . . . there was always a teeny bit of room between my heel and boot. The room caused movement and friction which would end up to be blisters . . . so that gel filled up that gap. I'm a ladies 4/5 . . . boys 3.5 with sneakers.

You wore them to long to soon. In order to prevent bleeding, you need to allow your feet to get used to them. And, in Florida, I were candles or flip flops everywhere and no one cares. I don't know if I get away with it because I'm in a wheelchair or what, but that's what I do. Try wearing the shoes an hour or two a day, for as long as it takes for your feet to get used to them.

@AmbiePam It doesn't take much, when shoes are new.

That’s the problem. I can’t. That has always been my first choice, and what I did with Payless. But they no longer have stores, and every other store out there where I can try shoes on is too expensive. Going to a store would solve all the problems, of course. It’s just not an option anymore.

So sorry you're having this problem. My Mom wore flip-flops so much I called her the "Flip-Flop Queen."

I have always had difficult finding shoes that are comfortable to accomodate my big size 10 feet.
Last month my doctor has prescribed me to go to a special podiatrist to get measured for orthotics, now those shoes are as ugly as they are expensive, I am just very fortunate to have 80% of the cost covered by my health spending account from work.

I was a big fan of Payless until I moved to Latvia. My shoe size has always been 8 1/2 and I have always had not problems finding shoes but in my life have had plenty of bloody heel blisters due to shoe quality. In Latvia, it was so difficult to find shoes because the cheaper ones had no quality and the others cost way too much,

Yes I do. I wear a children size 3 and my feet are narrow. Alot of stores have childish looking shoes so it was hard to find any I liked. I was getting shoes from Amazon. But I got some shoes that were too big and I got calluses on my foot. I have decided to stick with shoes that actually fit my feet. I bought some nike air shoes recently and discover that I can't walk in them during long distances because one heel will bleed and hurt. No, I'm not returning them. I just can't wear them to festivals, etc.

Oh man and I'm so sorry to hear this about your feet. That must be awful. Most places that sells shoes are getting so expensive and I swear that they don't make shoes the same as they used to. I have been wearing the same wide clogs for 3 years now.
I hope you find something that helps.

Tan of flip flops? Evil Grin...You gave me a reason to thank god for my brownie color. Even if I tan it doesn't show. LOL
Ok...seriously...I know what that problem of shoes is. I too have difficulty in finding my size. But I found my size on road side. Can you believe it? Kinda manufacturing defect perhaps ...so I got it cheaply. LOL

Maybe just buy men sizes I have really wide feet. I have always been a bean pole but even in marines they were amazed at how wide my feet were but they knew just give him the wide boots and they did that too for lady marines. Not sure how that works in heals but if Marines know its a thing, corporate world has to know.
