I had a strange visitor come into the bedroom last night!!!!

I was really tired last night when I finally crawled into bed and had fallen asleep. I was startled awake by someone caressing my leg. I stayed still, even though I was startled awake by the feeling of being caressed on my leg, then someone licking my leg. I laid there considering whether to call out or not...the caressing kept on. I wasn't in a position to scream or even raise up and confront the intruder that was reaching under my blanket feeling my leg.
I kept quiet, contemplating whether to raise up and call for help. I wondered how the intruder got into the apartment...I have 7 windows that make the apartment accessible, all but 1 are rather difficult to get through as the apartment is on the third floor. The one that is accessible is in the dining room and the intruder would be in real trouble trying to get in quietly through that window. It normally would be a window to a dining area, but this is my cutting area for the bears at this time. The intruder would have to crawl over my pattern files, stacks of various furs (faux, real, and cut out bear pieces from various furs). Also, there is a large buffet type table that I lay out the patterns on and do my cutting...so if the intruder tried to come in that way, he (or she) would end up in the hospital for a long time from having the bear making stuff falling on them. Then of course, there is the injuries from falling from the third-floor window....
I laid in be contemplating how the intruder got into the apartment, and why he (or she) chose to enter "MY" apartment and rub my leg and also kiss my leg. I was a bit nervous about the situation, and my phone was in the studio/living room so I couldn't call for help. Petey, my ginger tabby and protector, wasn't nearby and then I began to worry about him and what the intruder may have done to my special boy...I was getting very concerned about the whole situation. I had about decided to get up and challenge the intruder. Then the common-sense side of me took over. I tried to move my head so I could see what I would be challenging; but I couldn't see anything in the dark.
I was starting to really panic, I didn't have anything close by to use for a weapon, no phone, Petey wasn't close by, I wasn't in condition to do any self-defense...I could yell but who would hear me? During all the time I was panicking the "hand" was under my covers stroking my leg gently, licking it very gently, and even petting it like it was a very old and precious antique. I was close to yelling for help-but my door was locked and only one person had a key, and she was a really really sound sleeper.
I sighed, and figured that the end was near. I had no options other than to say "Good bye" to my life style (such as it was) and feel for my intruder and protect myself the best I could. I slowly reached under the covers, reaching down towards my left leg (which was the leg that the intruder was reaching under the covers to stroke and lick). There was no response to my reaching under the covers towards the intruder (Thank God!!!!). I finally, after what seemed like an eternity, was able to touch the intruder.
I about jumped outta my skin when I touched the intruder!!!! I expected to touch human skin, but instead I touched....fur!!!! I was baffled until I reached a little further down the covers and felt more fur and heard a familiar sound.
Apparently, Freya, had burrowed under the covers and totally emersed herself under the sheets and blanket so that she was nice and warm. I had experienced her covering herself totally except for her head. She had done it the first time in my closet when she got into a bag of fiberfill. She worked her way in until her whole body was covered by the fiberfill and only her face and ears were visible. She did it again a few days later in the studio, crawling into a stack of faux fur, so that her head was the only thing visible. This last time was a real piece of work, as she had to work hard to get under the sheet, blanket, and quilt. She spent the night there, purring contentedly as she was nice and warm.
I couldn't get upset at her as she was so darned cute about how she went about getting under the covers, and besides that she was cold!!! She never ceases to amaze me with her new antics and what she comes up with to do. As she comes up with new things, I will pass them along to amuse my fellow "myLotters".
Have a great week, and I will give Freya an extra hug for all of you.

Thank you for the compliments. My fur babies are really possessive of me and make it well known to everyone who the number one human in their lives is, and they sleep with her every night....(and Petey helps me with my computing and bear work daily. He's on my lap right now, and is sending out a big "HELLO" to all my myLot friends.)

I was wondering if it might be a pet, but your description made it seems o human. When I was married the first time way back in the early 70's I had to stay alone when my hubby had duty on board the ship. I had never stayed alone. I knew I could not bring myself to use a traditional weapon on anyone, but I did sleep with a hammer under my pillow because I felt I would be comfortable giving someone a whack with that.

When I read this title, I assumed it was one of your cats. Turns out I was right. Chilly is like that sometimes. He'll burrow under the blanket and affix himself to our bodies.

Aw yes, please do give her some extra love from us. What a cute story. Sounds like she is becoming a real little love bug!

It took a very long time for her to become such a love bug. The lady I got her from must have dogs because when I got to her house to see Freya the lady had her locked up in a back room. She didn't carry her like she knew cats, and complained about how often and how much the cat ate. I took Freya from her and the poor thing didn't even weigh two pounds at 10 months old. I adopted her on the spot and brought her home and the first thing I did was put food down for her and show her the litter box. (Shoot, if she's anything like me the first thing I need is the bathroom.)
Now, after having her only 5 months she is totally different, from weighing close to 6 pounds to being a total love bug and keeping me in sight constantly. If I'm gone for any length of time I get chewed out by both cats. As I keep saying, obviously the lady that had Freya didn't know anything about cats and it really showed in how Freya had acted and how much she has changed in such a short period of time. I even have her retrieving when we play. She also has a lazer light that she loves to chase (I make darned sure to keep the light away from her precious eyes. If you shine the light in their eyes too long you can damage their eyes seriously and the eyes will never recover from the damage.)
You'll never find two cats that are loved more deeply and thoroughly than these two, nor as spoiled as they both are. That's how come I didn't swat first when I felt "someone" messing with my leg under the covers.
The babies send their love and kitty hugs back to you, and wish you a happy week and hope that you will treat yourself to a special treat that you really enjoy. Mom's (my) favorite is Starbucks cold brewed Pumpkin spice late'. I tried it a few weeks ago and it's a new favorite!

lol My two cats (the other two sleep with my mother) sleep with me. One of them gets my chest and the other gets on my legs.

That's why I don't like keeping cats. I really like dislike all the disturbances caused over there
