I say she's new, but I've been feeding her on the front porch for a couple of months.
Meet Braveheart.
Why did I name her Braveheart?
Because of the two kittens she'd let me scratch and pet her while she was eating. I call the other kitten Scardy because it is.
The other day, like Thursday, she came up to the threshold and looked in. Saturday she stepped in. She backed out, but I continued to hold the door open. She came back and came inside. I shut the door.
Sunday I held the door to the kitchen open and she went in there. She growled at the inside cats and they growled and hissed back.
I have had her come into the bathroom while I'm doing things and she has let me pet her there.
I might just be able to flip this feral kitten!
Isn't she pretty? Have you ever done that with a feral animal?

These aren't strays. A stray cat is a cat who was or is owned that somehow got lost and often ends up as part of a feral colony. That's what happened with Frank, who I posted about in May, I think. Some feral colonies are tended so long that they are adjusted to having humans around who can pet them.
Braveheart is currently still considered feral since I'm afraid to pick her up. I would like to take her to the vet and get checked out and fixed, but I'm rather fond of my skin being attached to me and not shredded.
