I Had That Follow Up Mammogram Today

I mentioned back a while ago that I had to have a callback mammogram and after having had breast cancer in 2019, that was pretty scary.
So I had my follow-up mammogram today. The technician took 4 images and then told me to go sit in the waiting room and she would come back and get me after she shared them with the radiologist. I was feeling pretty down and discouraged about the whole situation. She came back a few minutes later and asked me to come with her and she said the radiologist needed a few more images. Sigh. So she took 2 more and had me sit in the waiting room again.
This time there was another woman in the waiting room also. Her turn came and I was sitting there all alone. The tech came back in and said, "You are all set. See you next September." That was SO not what I was expecting her to say that I didn't compute in my brain so I said, "What?" And she said, " You are all set. It was just some tissue and she needed to get a better look at it." I was so stunned and excited that I got teary-eyed and gave the tech a big hug.
Then I sat down in the dressing room and cried a little. God is good and He answered my prayers today that's for sure! Thanks to those of you who prayed and sent out positive thoughts!
Have you ever gotten news that was the opposite of what you expected...in a good way?

Good news! I had to have a computerized needle biopsy once, and the machine malfunctioned. I was uncomfortable with how I had to lay, and was almost in tears and so was the technician. I had to have it redone at a later date, and the comment was that if there had been any cancerous cells they probably had bled out in the biopsy, but I was free and clear. That was just before I married Bob.

I am so glad, Karen. I had been thinking about you, and praying for you. This is just such wonderful news to hear. I certainly was hoping they were just being extra cautious with you.
And, you have inspired me to get a mammogram. They say to do it starting at 40, and I am 42, and have never done it.

Oh good, I love to inspire people, especially when it is something as important as a mammogram. Have you scheduled it yet?

Thank you. I am too. Sorry if that sounds a bit egocentric, but I am just so happy!
