The BBC are becoming worse A presenter, Fiona Bruce, on Question Time referred to a man "The black man in the blue top. He had given his name so this was plain rude The BBC then cut the clip out I have a link for anyone interested I am going to read again now I'll be back later
Fiona Bruce called the audience member to apologise for calling him 'the black guy' during the BBC 's Question Time, but he still wants to know why the broadcaster deleted the clip.

They have to think before they open their mouth. Such statements might create a lot of mess later. Good that they cut the clip. But anyways, it has made a news by then.

One does wonder though if the black part was the main part of the probem in a time where EVERYTHING seems to want to have a race component to it even when it really doesn't. Had this been a white guy in a blue top I would BETCHA that the audience and even the person addressed would have simply laughed at it.

@Gilljane Unfortunately it is not and too many people, especially the media, like to present some things that are often just things they want us all to believe are problems. Either way, considering she knew the guy's name the use of the wording she used does seem rather inappropriate, and perhaps even unfortunate.

I´d fire her. A presenter MUST know how to address different kind of people even if in her heart what she sees is that.

I mean, normally I'd say okay, if the guy WAS a black guy in a blue top, no harm no foul. But if she knew the guy's name, while it's not horrible if he is INDEED a black man in a blue top, it certainly begs the question why she chose to address him in that way KNOWING his name. A stranger dog on a leash might actually be just a dog on a leash unless you know it's Sparky on a leash.

I wonder if she forgot his name. If she knew it, then she is downright disrespectful. If she did, then I kind of feel bad for her because that is embarrassing.
